Lands End is located in the northern tip of the West End and is a short 8 min walk into town that we did every single day while we were there for the week. The resort is unfortunately not well kept and it lacks the vibrancy and color that pictures online showed. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating to all our requests and we were even upgraded to an ocean view room with a small upcharge ($10/night). We went in the offseason (mid-June) so Lands End was unfortunately a bit of a ghost town. We were the only ones there for the first 3 days. The rooms were basic. The bed was not comfortable at all unfortunately, but the air conditioning, shower and balcony made up for it. The TV did not show any channels clearly (all static fuzz). We didn’t spend that much time in the room any way so we didn’t feel like complaining about that at the time. Not sure if they’d be able to fix it though. The pool was beautiful - salt water and the perfect temperature. We didn’t get to see a sunset over the water because of the cloudy conditions during our times but you can tell that it would’ve been absolutely breathtaking if the weather had cooperated. Overall, Lands End’s biggest selling point is its location and price range. If you’re looking to stay at a fancier place I’d recommend somewhere else. If you’re looking for a spot to just stay and enjoy the view and the town without the fancy things, Lands End can definitely be for you.

This review regards the restaurant at Lands End, and is only about one meal that I had there. I ordered the picatta ($10) with chicken ($4), a "Caesar's" salad ($8) and a can of soda ($2.50). I will start with the bad: the salad. The only claim the salad had to being and kind of Caesars, was that it was served with some tasteless grated parmesan from a plastic jar. The greens were not romaine, but perhaps a leaf lettuce. The croutons were stale, tasteless cut-up pre-sliced white bread. And the entire thing actually tasted bad. On the matter of sliced white bread: the picata was served with a toasted diagonal cut slice of it, with no suggestion of garlic or butter or flavor of any kind. The good: the picata was actually quite delicious and the portion size was filling. It had black olives and the abundant capers were crushed appropriatly to bring out thier flavor. The menu said the picata was made with lime, but no hint of it came through. Overall tho, the picata was quite good. Then chicken - half a breast piece -could have maybe been less cooked, but it tasted very good. It was served with a small amount of the same tasteless parmesan used for the salad. The bill came to $32 including the tax and 10% service charge. Overall I do not think the meal was worth the money. So 3 stars is the best I can give Lands End, based solely on that meal.

Great place to stay. Very clean and the people are friendly. The facilities need a little work, like better lighting on the stairs and some minor repairs here and there. This pretty typical considering resources are a little more limited in Roatan compared to what you may be used to. The A/C worked very well and there was hot water. Wifi worked well all over. The price, location, friendly staff, and views make staying here well worth it. Though there is no sandy beach there are stairs into water for some pretty good snorkeling. I was surprised at the amount of marine life we seen. The freshly made breakfast each morning was great. The deck, patio, pool, and bar area is a great place to relax have a drink and enjoy the views and sounds of the ocean. It's just a short walk from the West End where there are several things to do and see. Bring beach towels and snorkeling equipment. Several places take credit cards but they do charge a service fee. Cash is better and they do accept US dollars. Plenty to do within walking distance but if you prefer you can rent scooters. There are plenty of taxis, but it can get pricey and you can rent a scooter for the week or by the day.

I have known Lands End for decades, I have been there with my family, my friends, I have frequented it when I was managing a tourist newspaper, I have sent tourists there on several occasions because I collaborate with two local tour agencies. This afternoon, after about 3 years of not being able to go, I was happy to enter this place again. By chance, a person I have known for several years came to serve me, very kindly, I ordered a coffee, as it was taking a while to arrive, she told me that I could go sit down, she would bring it to the table. After waiting a few more minutes, I called some friends with whom we had dinner plans and suggested that I join them at Lands End, it wasn't long before sunset. The coffee hadn't arrived yet so I started walking towards a table to sit down when a woman, I don't know if she was the owner or the manager, asked me if I was staying in one of the rooms there. I told her no, I apologized for my English and pronunciation, after asking her if she could understand Spanish I saw her facial expressions and attitude worsen. She ended by telling me that this place doesn't only sell coffee, and she showed me to the exit of the place. I am never against any business policy, especially if it is an establishment that also works as a hotel, I understand that it may have stricter rules. But why did they accept my coffee order then? They made me wait just to treat me this way? I repeat that I am not against any policy but this lady did not take 10 seconds to understand me or listen to me and she kicked me out of the place with a classism that made me feel very bad. It hurts me a lot that she ruined my conception of the Lands End that I remembered and that I wanted to live again, but she will surely be very happy that she will never see me again. I hope that Google Translate was able to choose the right words to translate my feelings...

My wife and I traveled to Roatan to enjoy a vacation with a few friends of ours. One stayed in Lands End with us, but had their own room. The rest of the group stayed in a rental at Gibson Bight.

This was an amazing experience for us. Quiet and far enough from west end to avoid heavy foot and motor traffic. Close enough to be a nice walk into west end.

Natalia, Dania, and Chenelle were amazing hosts to us the entire time we were there. They made breakfast every morning you want which was great! The sunset views with waves crashing in the volcanic rock were beautiful. When we got back after dark we would just lay out on the deck and listen to the ocean while looking at the stars.

Speak with the desk when you arrive. They can schedule everything for you on your time if you want. Deep tissue massage, snorkeling, fishing, diving, ziplining, and island tours. While we were there they did on site covid testing for the 24h required test prior to departing too. You just need to ask them to schedule it for you.

Our room was not a water front, but it was a 2nd floor bungalow type room up a spiral staircase. We could still see and hear the ocean from our room though. The room was spacious and everything functioned. Wifi, TV, water fixtures, lights. But we rarely used the wifi, never used the TV, and only were there to sleep and take showers.

I have read the reviews about wifi not working and not enjoying the stay because of accommodations. I would say to just take a second and remember where you are. You're on an island in the Caribbean Sea that is supplied by the mainland. The people there work hard for you, most of them for 12 hours or more a day. Appreciate what you have and that you get to be there to experience it. Lose your phone, your wifi, your laptop, and just take everything in...

Decent location, close walking distance to main west end area. The staff was friendly but mostly vacant and on their phones (other than Alex the bartender, he was great!)

When we arrived my room had a missing shower head, a broken shower curtain, dirty sheets (bugs and stained), ants everywhere (I understand it is the climate but not even an effort made to address the issue). The sink in the bathroom was falling off the wall, the door to my room was so sticky you had to put your entire shoulder into it to open it every single time.

The online photos compared to the in person experience was completely misleading. Also the “free local breakfast” was a joke. You had to wait to see if there was an employee around to get it for you. The first day it consisted of two eggs that looked microwaved and a piece of watermelon, never tried it again after that. Walked to town and spent money on an actual breakfast.

In the middle of the stay they decided to drain the pool and we did not have access for two days. I understand electrical power issues are ongoing for island life but a hotel that size could have invested in a generator. We lost power 4 times in one week.

This hotel seemed like it once was great many years ago - it is falling apart and nothing like it is advertised now. Would have loved to get a refund and spend more money elsewhere for better accommodations but they have a zero cancelation policy. The front desk said different when confronted but online and in the agreement it states that.

Overall if time and money was spent fixing the place up it could be great, but the ownership and management does not seem to care. Just cost way too much for...
