The hype is overrated. Start with a reservation made a few days before . Arriving promptly, waiting . Wait staff were busy . Saw us standing there. Walked passed us and not a hello nor Merry Christmas, since it WAS Christmas Day! About 7 mins in before someone even acknowledge us . Told the wait staff that we had a reservation, the main area was not available ( though we HAD reservation) and we were placed upstairs . Menus were just handed to me to bring up and for us to get our own table. ( great customer service 😞 ) when the wait staff came up with food or drinks for the other tables , they seemed like it was a chore to come upstairs. Drink orders was 1st placed while we look over the menu. The drinks for 3, all came at separate time . Meanwhile the ice were melting in 1 drink while waiting. Finally with meal order . The 12 Oz tenderloin steak ( requested medium rare) came chard outside and more like medium well. And no taste. The shrimp burger looked like it was all bun and barely anything inside. Fries no salt. My whole fish snapper was the only one that was ok with taste though slightly burnt on one side . Grill veggies were cold for 2 of our side dishes. Presentation looked like they just tossed it on the plate or wood plank. Hence no care was placed in the quality nor taste. It was extremely disappointing and overpriced . Never once came to check if we needed anything. The one time I did ask for hot sauce when the food was brought up. She never came back with it. My son had to go down to ask. We had to go down to pay cause the Cashier who was also one of the server , Had the audacity to say the price does not include tips! How rude is that for shitty service ? Don't waste your money! If you want good food in West End, Roatan, I highly recommend Pazzo , Roatan Oasis, Drunken Sailor. 1st and foremost, good service, great food. Well worth the money. Even the taco stand next to Coconut dive shop is way...
Read moreMy family and I came to West End for dinner and I had been to the Argentinian Grill a long time ago so we decided to visit. The limonada with soda was really tasty and the kids liked it. We ordered the garlic bread as an appetizer and it was the best I've had in a long time. My husband enjoyed his red snapper and my my milanesa was very tasty along with the rice and beans. I'd also recommend the curry potatoes they were yummy. The tomatoes on my plate were a bit too green for my taste but the big food disappoinment was the kids' Cheeseburger. They decided to share and half of the burger was so black and charred that it was inedible even though the middle was still pink. I wouldn't have minded so much except that paying $17 for a Cheeseburger and fries that was inedible didn't seem appropriate. After we talked to three different employees, they took the charge off the bill which was the right thing to do. If we visit Roatan we would gladly return, but stay away from the...
Read moreSo first note that the address here is incorrect. Or at least the one we went to was in the west bay, not West End. We loved that it was right on the beach and the first night we went there after a lousy lunch at the Banarama beach restaurant, which served to lower our expectations. So by contrast, the Argentinian grill tasted amazing. We both had steaks with the chimchurri sauce, a loaded baked potato and grilled veggies. Everything was awesome. My reason for the four star is that the second time we went, I ordered the exact same thing and was disappointed to be served a smaller steak than the first night and it was cooked incorrectly, making it a little tough. Still, a trusthworthy place to eat with good flavors, but as with everything in Roatan, it's not cheap. Good place to get a meal Americans would...
