Be careful with your belonging in this hostel.||If it´s not the old blond lady who steals from the kitchen it could be the staff who makes your things disappear.||I stayed 4 nights, during the Zsiget festival. The room in the attic is really bright with no curtains at all. Specially during summer that sunrise is at 5 am||Sophie is the nicest staff, friendly and very attentive, though she doesn´t want to be too involved when something bad in the hostel happens. She let me go through the video survaillance when the old lady stole some food from me (and she was also caught on camera stealing more food from guests).||I forgot my sandals the day i checked out. I emailed the hostel about t. Greta found my sandals and we agreed that she would send them to Madrid by post. After insisting a lot by emails and calls, the sandals are gone. Taken by Great or other staff. She promised that she could send the sandals and then nothing happend. Someone stole them or kept them for themselves.||I know that guests are priority and that they forget a lot of stuff. I But stealing from guests???? Specially when I ask for my sandals back, they confirmed they found them and they also confirmed they could send them by post (on my cost of course).||So, imagine if a staff member can steal a pair of sandals that were claim back by the owner, what can happend to your more valuable belonging?||I´m extremely dissapointed by their actions and their lack of commitment||Till today I have no news or answer from the hostel, from Greta or from Sophi.||Completely...
Read moreI don't even know where to start.. As soon as my friend and I walked into the garden of the hostel we knew it was going to be amazing. It's a 5 minute walk from Budapest-Keleti train station and tube station which made life so much easier. We were greeted by Sophie, who is the most beautiful and loveliest human ever (she makes the hostel your home, she came round with popcorn and pretzels for us one night and we would go outside at nighttime and chat for ages) and she took us to our room which was the perfect size for the two of us. She came round with coffee for us and told us to come to her with any questions and queries. She gave us loads of leaflets for free pub crawls and recommended amazing streets for us to have a drink. It was so cheap and reasonable too because we had a private room and it was so cheap. Absolutely perfect location and completely safe with a large iron door with a code to let you in at night. The bathrooms and kitchens are perfect and spotless. We were due to stay for 4 nights but ended up begging Sophie to let us stay one more night just because we loved Budapest and Sophie so much and she went out her way to make sure we could stay in the same room we were in and charged us the most minimum price for it. My friend and I cannot WAIT to return to Budapest (best place ever) and see Sophie and stay at the hostel again!! Would...
Read moreIts a Nice place. I had a little trouble getting in though on the first night. There is a code for the front gate, when you check in you are given the code. If like me you had a later flight and you arrive after reception closes however there is no one to buzz you in, and myself and my girlfriend were left waiting in the snow unsure of what to do. Thankfully other guests were arriving back and they let us in. The rooms were nice. Clean and modest. Shared kitchen, bathroom and showers. The following morning when the reception opened the staff were friendly and helpful.
The Walls are quite thin, there was a family with a baby in the room next to ours. So hearing a newborn crying all night was not ideal. Thats an unusual occurrence though and will not likely happen to most people but even general conversations in adjacent rooms were well heard. Its a nice and affordable place to come back to after a long day out and go to sleep, but if you plan on spending a lot of time in your room or the hostel its self, you may not find it the most peacful...
