Absolutely one of the best playgrounds I’ve ever visited! The Main Playground in Városliget (Városligeti Nagyjátszótér) offers an exceptional variety of equipment and facilities that cater to all age groups — from toddlers to teenagers. Whether it’s climbing structures, swings, slides, sand areas, or imaginative play zones, everything is thoughtfully designed, modern, and well-maintained.
What makes this place truly stand out is the diversity of play opportunities — it’s not just about fun, but also about creativity, movement, and social interaction. Kids can easily spend hours here without getting bored, and even parents can relax in the shaded areas or join in the fun.
I genuinely want to thank the municipality and everyone involved in making this playground possible. It’s clear that great care, planning, and investment went into creating a space that brings joy to so many families. Budapest is lucky to have such an incredible public area in the heart of the city. Highly recommended for locals and...
Read moreThis is the ultimate playground! There's definitely something for everyone; there's zip lines, pyramids, trampolines, massive slides, swings of all sorts, bouldering walls and many more. There's even an incredible hot air balloon which the children can climb the insides of!
The design of the place is very thoughtful. There's generous seating options available for the guardians and family members to rest their weary legs, while the children run about with infinite stamina. The round tables there are perfect for picnics. There's water points too. The toilet there is free for kids (below a certain height), the toll is payable by card or cash.
I find it super cool, that there's a red/green light indicator, to notify the kids whether the landing is clear in order for the next kid to use the steep slide.
tl;dr ultra well-designed playground for the entire family to have...
Read moreThis playground was a dream!!! It's exactly the kind of playground that every child/city deserves. Lots of different areas that were appropriate for different ages, but I particularly loved how hands-on the playground was in terms of climbing and really keeping my kids busy with challenging activities. Though we visited in winter, there's also water features during summer months. If you visit Budapest with kids, a visit (or multiple visits!) here is a must. Also plenty of seating for adults, garbages in case you bring snacks, and don't forget it's just at the corner of Varosliget park, so could literally be a full day of fun. Didn't notice any bathrooms for the public, but there was a building and I did notice some membership signage, which included bathrooms...but for tourists/short term visitors, there didn't seem to be a...
