Erhardt Wirtschaftsbürger Haus — Hotel in Soproni járás

Having previously been disappointed when staying at various B&Bs, we had no expectations when arriving in Sopron. We were, to say the least, most pleasantly surprised. The room was absolutely incredible! Very delicately decorated with nice, earth toned colours, practical arrangement of writing desk, chairs and storage which made the already large room seem even bigger. The nice touch of pictures and flowers made the impression cosier in contrast to the typical sterile hotel rooms. The bathroom was recently renovated and extremely clean. The Wi-Fi worked very nicely, and for people arriving by car the parking space is behind a locked gate and thus felt very safe. The hotel is very close to the old town, only a short 10-minute walk down the road. The only thing which could have made the impression even better was firstly more TV-channels in English or German which was largely lacking, and alteration to the breakfast. There was no cold cuts or warm dishes available as both had to be ordered from a waiter, which to us felt very old-fashioned and cheap. The dishes were tasty, but we prefer to decide what and how much we would like to eat for breakfast. Further, the milk and yogurt was not in cold storage and the coffee machine made a terrible noise when dispensing coffee. My partner and I had an excellent one-night stay here in Sopron. We wish we could have stayed longer! The room was comfortable, and beautifully done up. A very short walk from the Erhardt Restaurant & Pension (HIGHLY recommend a meal there), and the main town square area. I highly recommend choosing one of these rooms. It really is just a short walk to the restaurant, and the carpark is in this area, anyway.||||My ONE constructive comment would be that the tiles were very slippery once wet (during or after showering) - it would be good to have a non-slip mat on offer. We put a towel down for outside the shower, but inside was still slippery. 😊: Das zum Hotel gehörende Restaurant (Wintergarten) war voll zufriedenstellend. Das Essen und der Service waren sehr sehr gut.. 😢: Das Zimmer wurde als Superior Room angeboten und war 1 Minute Gehweg vom Hotel entfernt. Es befand sich direkt beim Parkplatz mit nur 1 Fenster zum Parkplatz. Der Parkplatz wurde als gesichert angegeben, wobei nachts jeder Fahrzeug ein und aus fahren konnte. Und das ohne Code oder Schlüssel. Das Zimmer war ca. 17 m2 groß und das Badezimmer war das kleinste, dass wir bis jetzt gehabt haben (siehe Bilder). Weiters war es im Zimmer immer ziemlich feucht, fast so wie in einem Kellerzimmer. Deshalb war in der Dusche auch entsprechend Schimmel (siehe Foto). Ein solches Zimmer als Superior Room anzubieten, ist fast schon eine Frechheit. Beim Fernseher konnten nur ungarische Sender empfangen werden. Es gab zwar 2 Deutsche Sender, aber die funktionierten nicht richtig. Beim Bezahlen der Unterkunft war auf der Rechnung auf einmal eine Parkgebühr von 10,00 EUR pro Tag, obwohl dies bei der Buchung über Booking.com nicht angeführt wurde. Es wurde lediglich auf das Vorhandensein eines GESCIHERTEN Parkplatzes hingewiesen. Lediglich die Zimmer im Neubau bei eigentlichen Hotel, die wir uns anschauen konnten, wären unserer Meinung nach akzeptabel. Unsere Empfehlung: Aufpassen bei der Zimmerbuchung, dass es ein Zimmer im Neubau ist. Die renovierten Zimmer im Altbau sind sehr klein. Die Zimmer beim Parkplatz sind nicht empfehlenswert.
