Hotel Sea View — Hotel in Agastheeswaram

The worst experience we had in this hotel. We are tourist from Malaysia. We booked this hotel two months prior and the payment settled. When we reached the hotel, the general manager came running and instruct us to a hotel nearby, without even welcoming us into the hotel. He says , the hotel is full now, and as a guest although we paid for four rooms, we should have some humanitarianism n should give up our room to another guest ( maybe his relatives). He gave us another four rooms in a basement of another hotel under the same management. Once we enter the room, it was so smelly, the bedsheets where yellow and full of stains. There were six inches of black lizard in the bathroom. The rooms in front us are all opened, adding to this there are ladies in the front rooms doing massage service for guys. We brought our parents in our trip. How can a family stay in a place like that? We checked out from the hotel given and had a long argument regarding the rooms. Very irresponsible management. Mainly the general manager. He didn't know about work ethic at all. Wether we are there or not, first of all, he shouldn't give our rooms to another guest because the payments are all settled two months back. I will never ever recommend this hotel to anyone. It is a black mark during our trip to India. At last we end up at another budget hotel at 11 pm night with hunger. Such an idiot manager. No brain, no work...

Pros: sea view if u have booked delux room. If u have booked standard room, go to the terrace or balcony (which is behind a glass door) on each floor for a common view. Breakfast options are amazing (The best variety we have had so far in our trip). Restaurant offers good variety and is reasonably priced. Taste is decent. Extra bed facility is good. They provide folding beds with wheels.

Areas of improvement : service is poor right from check in. They r slow and certain things are not obvious to them. If u request something, it takes a long wait and many reminders. The staff and waiters do not seem to be paid well. Most of the waiters are young boys who seem to be 15 to 17 year old. I felt pretty sorry for them. The hotel is making good money so the staff should be cared for. Rooms are old and bathrooms don't look like 3 star. The toiletries provided didn't have Label on them, we didn't know what's what. The kettle was broken. Rooms are just enough for 2 ppl. Balconies are very basic. Restaurant has limited seating capacity and they have few people attending the tables leading to increased...

Pathetic hotel. If one is hell bent to have a sea view room, they can go for this hotel for stay otherwise there is nothing admirable or praiseworthy from room upkeep to food to price. Rooms are not maintained as per normal standard. Leaking & fussy bathroom with wet floor is accident prone. Choked drain of waste water, too is an added failure. Hand towels are not provided. Pickles in restaurants are not served , if someone thinks of making tasteless food a bit spicy and tasty. Elevator too is in a poor & shamble state. After charging such an exorbitant prices, if these basic standards are not maintained, intent of the management is certainly questionable. It's better to stay in a nearby decent hotel, which though may not have a sea view, but are properly maintained. For sea view during sun rise and sun set a walking trip to nice locations can...
