Sree Punjabi Dhaba (pure vegetarian) — Restaurant in Agastheeswaram

This is one of the best places to eat in Kanyakumari. We stayed in Kanyakumari for 4 days. Except our first breakfast, we had all our meals in this place. And believe me, their food is really good and tasty. I saw many negative reviews about the dhaba being full without any space. That problem does not call for a negative review. This is actually a positive fact that most people prefer this place and that justifies the food quality and taste. I didn't see any bad behaviour from the guys in there. Infact, one of the boys (waiter) gifted something to our baby girl on our last day. The prices are reasonable. The gobi manchurian is the best if I compare the taste with Bangalore's restaurants. However the masala dosa is not good and that is the only negative I can say. If I ever go to Kanyakumari again, I would definitely go to this place everyday for every meal. Don't tell me about their hygiene, none of my family fell sick after having food there continuously for 4 days. The Assamese staff are really good guys. I was looking for a Pure Veg (without Onion & Garlic) foods here in Kanyakumari, then I found on Google reviews that this restaurant offers some Jain friendly items, then I went at 9:30pm, the cashier told me to go inside, an waiter told me to seat here, then handed me over a menu book. I told the waiter “without Onion Garlic milega?” he replied “jain me chahiye apko?” then showed me Aloo Jeera and Tandoori Roti. Waiting time was less than 5 minutes, first got me Aloo Jeera, then Tandoori Roti. The quantity of Aloo Jeera was more than enough for one, costed ₹90. And the Roti costs ₹20 each (big & fatty).

Food was good, ate 5 rotis, the waiter was asking coming in front of me every 2-3 minutes what else I want.

Overall a good option for Pure Vegetarians, but a bit costly, if you get any other place to eat Pure Veg food where the roti costs less than ₹10 each and the sabji is not more than ₹50, then it'll be a perfect place for everyone!

I had worst experience of my life. I had to get admitted into local hospital after 1 hour of my dinner at this restaurant. Vomit loose motion and body full of rashes within 1hr. I even went and informed the owner next day. But they did not accepted their mistake. I actually told the bearer regarding food quality while paying the bill. The Manchurian was tasting bad and sour. They started defending themselves. So I stopped arguing and came back. This hotel was suggested to me by lodge where I was staying.. eventhough I took local help in finding good restaurants.
