The rooms are very basic. Take your own toilet paper and sheets/silk liners.
The A/C works, the hot water does not.
The rooftop restaurant has a stunning view with reasonable food. It’s great value but nothing special.
But completary food Quality is very bad, don't book room with food.
Despite other reviews, taxis can get here. It’s tough as the streets are narrow and there is a radius that older cars can’t go within but they can and do go to the door. Otherwise a tuktuk will happily take you all the way or just from the big roundabout if your taxi refuses...
Read moreFrom my experiences in India this hotel was the most "western" experience. I traveled through MP and UP, mostly rural travels once we left Delhi.
The staff here were courteous and even offered up front the use of hot water and toilet paper, which aren't common in hotels in India. The rooftop in early December had quite a few mosquitoes at night, but otherwise was a gorgeous view of the Taj and very relaxing.
As it can be with anywhere in India, if you plan on resting during the day you should likely plan earplugs ahead of time, as the building is stone and there is lots of echoing noise from the busy life happening all around your room.
