The Retreat Hotel — Hotel in Agra

I’ve been there with my boyfriend (both certified someliers). We were so happy we could try local wine there so we ordered 2 glasses at the restaurant. We get nothing more than tonic water in a very beutiful glass. It was sparkling but I am 100% sure it wasn’t even standing next to the alcohol (they were not lucky enouch as we are someliers). Because we were sure we didn’t get a wine we ordered a full bottle. Then we were charged 6000 india rupees for it!!! In India you always have a maximum price they can charge you in a shop for sth and on the bottle it was 780 rupees. It was a hotel restaurant so they can charge you more.. 2 times, 5 times, but they charge us 9 times more!!! And they explained that this is a price and we have to believe their words as they do not have any alcohol in their menu card. So no proof for prices they charge their customers. 4* hotel that do not include ANY alcohol prices in their menu!!! Of course it was our fault we didn’t agree on the price upfront, but come on! We stayed one night at the hotel. Unfortunate experience at the restaurant made our stay less attractive than expected. The restaurant procing for alcohol is not in the menu card so they tell you any price they can and if you don’t ask beforehand you are doomed. 1st glass of wine was diluted, 2nd was replaced with non-alcoholic sparkling quasi drink for people who may not be sophisticated in the wine area. The next day we stayed at amazing hotel Tiger Den next to Ranthambore National Park. Bottle of wine was 3x cheaper than what Retreat charged for the same product and they were not diluting with cheap stuff. Today me nd my friends group reaced to your hotel’s restaurant

Nd we order snacks nd your staff said sir we cant able to serve you the whole snacks menu

Then we ordered the main course nd they serve cold food , half backed breads even they didnt serve proper salad platter , the crockery was not properly cleaned they didn’t even serve quater plates nd glasses of water.nd not a jug of drinking water .. tables are not clean
