If you're not a keen reader just read the end of this review but for your money's sake if you can, read the entire passage. My stay at Vivanta by Taj in Bengaluru, Whitefield was not what I expected. Taj is a big name and the facilities of this hotel were terrible. Let's begin, at the check-in, the receptionists were so confused that even I began having second thoughts, they asked for many things and most of them were unnecessary given I showed them an official ID and all the printed details from the website I booked. After more than 45 minutes, I was finally able to see my room, which made me regret booking in Vivanta. Right as I entered, there was a transparent glass partition through which I could see a western toilet, so at any given moment if someone wanted to enter our room with our food or anything else, they would be on the front seat for the show. The room was divided in two, the living room and a broken sliding door leading into the bedroom. The living room was fine except for the old, splintered and grouty woodworks, but the bedroom was terrible. There was no space to walk, there was (again) a transparent wall around a small bathtub, this made me think that maybe the room was meant for easily excitable newlyweds, but even newlyweds wouldn't find answering nature's call in a toilet where it can all be seen. The waiters/cleaners who entered our room did look like they were half expecting to see something but I and my family remained careful and we were able to stay there with our dignities intact. I would also like to mention that the bathroom and toilet, splintered wooden sliding door did not have any locks. The room was dark, dingy and claustrophobic overall. The windows were dirty, extremely thin and constantly making a clicking sound like they were about to break at any moment. The lighting and electrical were messed up as there were many multiple lights controlled by one switch and it was always dark in our room too. Next is the restaurant, again, we paid for the buffet but the guy at the entrance kept saying we would have to pay again as he could not confirm whether we had paid or not(despite it being clearly written in our package and the prinout of the website we booked it from). We paid anyways because he said it was required. We sat down to eat and realised there were only three waiters going around for almost 15 full tables. The cleaning and serving took time. Some of the foods were kept out in the open which invited flies to sit on them making them unhygienic( a place which is Taj's franchise has pest issues, surprising). The food quality overall was good, but again, not worthy of being under the aegis of Taj. After my unsatisfactory stay was over I was upset over the money spent on this place. The amount of money it claimed from me was way too much for the services and facilities provided, I could've definitely stayed somewhere else. All in all, I feel like this hotel of the franchise is hanging by a thread and needs to...
Read moreI was on a 8 days business trip and stayed at Vivanta Bengaluru, Whitefield. Looks like everything went wrong with my stay. I was booked in one of the Loft rooms and since it was very claustrophobic, I asked for a different room. I was told I was down graded 2 level to a suite, but was charged for the loft room that I was originally booked for despite me being down graded. The front office lady Lebonnya, told me that since I asked for a downgrade, I still should be paying for the Loft room price, as I did not choose to use the Loft room. This made no sense to me since I did not use the service, I should not be paying for it. According to Vivanta's logic that if the pent house was available, I still should be paying for it even though I did not use it. To add to this every morning at breakfast I would give my room number before entering the breakfast area Mynt. Despite me giving my room number I would be approached by multiple attendants asking for my number again, disturbing during my breakfast. I did let them know that I had given my room number, the lady told me the person forgot to note it down. This kept happening for the entire stay. During the check out when I raised my concern about having to pay exorbitant price even when I was down graded, I was given the explanation, that it was my choice to downgrade and I should be paying the Loft price. When I was at the airport, I received a phone call from of the managers and he said that he was very sorry and about my experience and that he will waive off some petty amount as compensation for the experience I had. He did not address the part that I had paid the price of the Loft room despite being downgraded. I let him know that I will be writing this review. He said please hold off on writing any reviews as he will be getting back to me ensuring that things were made right. I did not get any call back or email addressing my above concerns. I was very disappointed and would not come back to Vivanta in the future. The entire staff needs to be retrained and ensure Customer Service...

I recently visited Taj Vivanta restaurant in Pattandur Agrahara, Whitefield, Bangalore, for a corporate team lunch, focusing on trying their vegetarian offerings. While the overall experience had its highs, some aspects fell short of expectations.
The highlight of the meal was the Babycorn dry – a well-prepared dish that pleased the taste buds with its flavors and texture. The freshness and quality of ingredients were evident, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen.
Another positive note was struck with the Curd Rice, which managed to strike the right balance between creaminess and tanginess. The comforting and well-seasoned dish added a traditional touch to the meal.
The Ginger Pickle offered a delightful spicy kick, complementing the meal perfectly. Its vibrant flavors enhanced the overall dining experience, proving to be a standout among the condiments.
The Kiwi Fruit Cake served as the sweet finale to the meal. Its unique combination of sweetness and tartness created a pleasant surprise, leaving a lasting impression on my palate.
However, not all items lived up to the standards set by these standout dishes. Several menu items failed to meet expectations, contributing to an overall sense of disappointment. The lackluster performance of these dishes tarnished the overall dining experience, especially given the reputation of Taj Vivanta.
In conclusion, my visit to Taj Vivanta restaurant in Whitefield, Bangalore, provided a mixed bag of culinary experiences. While some dishes showcased the chef's skill and the restaurant's commitment to quality, others fell short, leaving me with a sense of unfulfilled expectations. It's evident that there is room for improvement in certain areas, and I hope the restaurant takes constructive feedback to enhance the overall dining experience for...
