Terracotta - Vivanta by Taj

I recently visited Terracotta, the fine-dining restaurant inside Vivanta by Taj, with high expectations. The ambiance was indeed impressive – warm, elegant, and inviting. The décor added a touch of sophistication, making it a great place for special occasions or a refined evening out.

However, when it comes to the food, I felt it didn’t live up to the standards I anticipated. While the presentation was excellent, the dishes lacked uniqueness and any standout flavors. The menu seemed uninspired, and there was nothing distinctive that set it apart from other restaurants. For a place of this caliber, I expected more creativity and bolder flavor profiles in the offerings.

On the brighter side, the service was commendable. The staff was attentive, polite, and ensured we were comfortable throughout our visit. They were quick to respond to requests and maintained professionalism.

In conclusion, Terracotta has a lovely ambiance and good service, but the food doesn’t match the high standards one would expect from a fine-dining experience at Vivanta. It could be worth a visit for the ambiance alone, but food enthusiasts might find it...

Had a very disappointing Onam sadya experience here.

The service was bad, not all of us got served all the accompaniments of sadya, was served pineapple based vegetable dish even after telling and reminding about allergies, the serving was arbitrary (with some servers entirely skipping our table of 6), we had to wait for food to be served once it was over, serving staff was not aware of what was being served and they did not have a kids chair (had only 1 but it was in use apparently).

To top it off, the payasam got over and instead of telling us the staff prepared elineer payasam using frozen over night coconut base which had spoilt. Tasted pungent, sour and ruined the whole experience. Told the staff, instead of an apology or a conversation about the service and food they got me another bowl of the same spoilt coconut payasam 🤦

Would not advise for onam sadya experience. From other reviews it does appear they do justice to other food but stay away if you want onam sadya.
