This Museum is Right opposite VOC zoo in coimbatore, Tickets are very cheap, collections of many idol's, coins, stuffed creatures is good. Only minus point is some unkempt artifacts. But a good spot for children.

Right opposite to the VOC Zoo & Park, and in the Nehru stadium complex, the Government Museum is located among the shops. Its quite small and hence I had almost missed it, when I went to the VOC Park earlier. The museum has a collection of old coins from various countries, articles made using wood and bamboo used by the tribals, zoological specimen, and various articles made and used by people who had lived in and around Coimbatore region. It also has a section on how the characters (Script) used in Tamil Language evolved over...

👍🏻In this museum you would get to know more about the ancient tamil people and their lifestyle.

👍🏻Ancient swords, urns, coins have kept for Display.

👍🏻Proper information is also given for everything. We spend so much for other things. Its only ₹10, do visit here and you would sure feel good about our history.

Very small but good place. The name board is not noticeable and even the local people do not know about the museum. The museum curators don't know much about the specimens. Just 5 rupees ticket and a lot to learn for high school student. The people sitting they should study about the specimens more and have to explain to...
