A Nightmare Stay with Meghavarsham Luxury Cruise â Families, Beware! If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Meghavarsham Luxury Cruise turned what should have been a relaxing getaway into one of the most distressing experiences of my life. From the moment we stepped on board, things only went downhill, culminating in outright threats to our safety.
Filthy, Unhygienic, and Completely Unacceptable Letâs start with the basicsâour rooms had very strong and unpleasant odor that was extremely difficult to tolerate. The staffâs âsolutionâ? A half-empty air freshener thrown our way, which did little more than mask the problem for a few minutes. To make matters worse, Room 1 had a broken window haphazardly covered with sheets, allowing a steady invasion of mosquitoes. Their response? An ineffective repellent machine that did nothing to stop the swarm.
Disrespectful Staff & Rude Captain Iâve been on houseboats before, and itâs always been a joy to take a photo near the steeringâuntil now. When I politely asked, the captain mocked me in front of the staff, refusing outright with a flimsy excuse about the wind. Other boats offered their guests the same experience without issue, yet here, we were treated like nuisances rather than paying customers.
Dinner Turned Into a Disaster Dinner was beyond horrifying. The server was visibly drunk, and the chapatis had foul, decaying odor. When I complained, he spat out a vile responseâ"Eat it or throw it in the dustbin." Instead of fixing the issue, he arrogantly suggested rice instead. They grudgingly removed the spoiled chapatis but never replaced them. Later, when we enquired about this with the chef admitted they have been serving packed chapatis which are just baked and served. Not sure wether they had served afternoon leftover chapatis or fresh chapati.
Aggressive Behavior & Death Threats As the night went on, the behavior of the staff became downright terrifying. The drunk attendant started glaring at us with a threatening demeanor, making our entire group deeply uncomfortable. At 10:15 PM, we were rudely ordered out of the dining area because the staff wanted to sleep there. When we requested for just 30 more minutes, we were flatly denied.
But the final strawâthe moment that turned our trip into a real-life horror storyâwas when the drunk attendant TURNED OFF the CCTV cameras and threatened me directly: "You just sleep. I will kill you."
At this point, I had no choice but to call the owner at 10:50 PM in sheer panic. Upon arrival, he confirmed that the cameras had indeed been turned off and that both the chef and staff are drunk. The owner forced them to leave immediately and assigned someone else to guard the boat overnight, but the damage had already been done.
Final Verdict: A Trip to RememberâFor ALL the Wrong Reasons There is nothing âluxuriousâ about Meghavarsham Luxury Cruise. This wasnât just an uncomfortable experienceâit was dangerous, unacceptable, and deeply traumatic. To anyone considering this place, especially families, I request you to stay away. The risk to your safety, dignity, and peace of mind is simply not worth it.
