One of the best cafes I've visited in a long while. Would definitely recommend the place.
Ambience: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 4/5
Pretty unique ambience, one that perfectly captures the essence of nature and the warmth of human spirits. The miniature pond, and all the plants and barks surrounding the entire place gives it a really cosy vibe, along with the tactfully placed decor and artifacts. Gotta give it a solid 9 for the cottagecore appearance. Gives us a cozy warm feeling, something that pairs really well with the desserts they serve.
Also, props to whoever came up with the playlist, plenty of mellow songs that match the theme perfectly. I hope they paid you well lol. Loved it.
As for food, you get what you pay for. They're not as expensive as you'd expect, but it is definitely on the pricier side. But you do get the quality that comes with the higher price, so it's absolutely worth it imo.
Pulled beef tacos were so good, she almost cried lol. Serving size was small, for the price though. As for veg options, the paneer roll was good, nothing spectacular but yeah, for 140₹, I'm not complaining. Masala chai for 50₹ is absolutely not it lmao. Better get something else. (I'm a masala tea addict, so yeah) Lotus biscoff cheesecake was a DREAM. perfect ratio of tanginess to sourness balanced with the sweetness of the sauce. As good as one from high end bakeries. It was pricey at around 240₹. "OG chocolate cake" as it's called, was really moist and well made. Orange muffins were good too, with a slight hint of orange, not too overpowering or sweet, perfect balance. Fries were pretty underwhelming though, for 150₹ I expected better. They weren't spicy as you'd expect. Pretty standard fries. Pretty expensive, considering we paid over 1000₹ for just the two of us (granted we ate a lot lol), but worth it for us. The only gripe I have is the wait time. We were the ones and it took them more than half an hour to start getting us the dishes we ordered. But ig if you like to talk a lot, this place would be heaven for you. Hunger is the best sauce, but I prefer mine without it. Everything else is just perfect. Servers are very nice, and helpful, parking is okayish, and they have cute takeaway bags too lol. They really have thought about everything. The little details make this one of my favorite cafes in...
Read moreWow! What a super cosy simply elegant place! Loved the charm of this place! 😄 And the looks of the tempting cakes that sit at the counter, yuummmm! Delicious! This is a brutally honest review: The place with its interiors and design, 5/5 but it has couple of downsides. But before that..let's discuss the positives. Ordered their passion fizz, BBQ chicken sandwich and the OMG chocolate cake slice. Awesome to know that they used real fresh passion fruit pulp in the juice and topped it off with soda! That's huge! Secondly, the cake! Damn! Damn! I swear it tasted as awesome as it looks! It was heaven! And rich in its chocolate flavour! I loved it and totally devoured it. I definitely vouch for it!! The BBQ sandwich, now, I loved the BBQ sauce inside the bread! It was sweet and tangy, just perfect! But.. the pieces of chicken inside, uumm.. it could have been more! I mean, I felt the bread with the sauce soaked up was dominant with every bite. The Chicken pieces definitely could have gone up! Nevertheless, it was a tasty dish! Definitely a place I would recommend! Awesome and quick service! Super super cosy ambience! And daamnn awesome cakes and good food! And I'll personally be visiting again to try the rest of the menu later.
Now, let me simply put out the downsides and I wish the owners of the place would look into it: I went here around 2.30 in the afternoon. The inside was already full and I had to sit outside. With a sheet above my head to protect from the rays of the sun, a single fan still wasn't enough to beat the heat! It was very very hot! And imagine going as a group, the entire group would need a fan individually and still won't be enough! Fish and chips, I simply thought it would be fresh fish in batter and fried...but turns out it was frozen fish fingers (according to the waiter) that they'll defrost and cook! Like the ready-to-cook type. That was a bit of a let down. Honestly, the BBQ chicken, the fizz and the cake were all fresh! And that's exactly why I still recommend this place to anyone for a quick bite and...
Read moreThe 5 star rating I've given is partly for the food, mainly for the charming, dainty ambience of the place, but most of all because the mother-daughter duo that run the place (apparently) seem to be the nicest people that I've come across. This place has some kind of a reputation in my nephew's college in Kanjirappally, where the cheese cakes and pastries are quite popular among his college-mates. We traveled all the way from Kanjirappally just to try out the cheese cakes, and weren't disappointed. Getting to the place is a bit of a hassle currently, because the work on the Alappuzha-Changanassery (AC) Road seems to drag on forever. It may better to get there via Kumarakom, for the near future. Once you get there, Google Maps gets you there without much of a hassle. You would still need to look for it though, as it is not quite visible when you're traveling toward it. The place itself doesn't have a place to park, but there's a pay-and-park about 200m North of it. The setting consists of a traditional house that has been converted into this modern establishment. The transformation has been tastefully done, and it kinda entices you in as soon as you get in. Lovely, charming ambience, probably best enjoyed at dusk. Top marks for it. We had a couple of cheese cakes, and a ginger-lime, which were very good. We plan to go back there soon to try out some of the other items. On the flip side, it is mossy at places (you may notice it in one of the photographs posted), the management kinda lacks experience, especially in triage, and some of us may find it on the expensive side (We paid close to ₹ 600 for the 3 items mentioned above). But I expect it to get better with time. I wish the owners all the best. The millennials seem to love it....
