My wife and I stayed at Gold The Royal from August 14, 2025 to August 17, 2025, and overall, our experience was good. Below is a detailed account of our stay:
Location:
The property is within walking distance of Connaught Place, Rajiv Chowk Metro Station, New Delhi Railway Station, and New Delhi Metro Station, which makes it quite convenient for commuting.
However, the immediate locality could be better. Unfortunately, there is an open men’s urinal directly in front of the rooms, which detracts from the overall impression of the surroundings.
The hotel is situated inside a narrow lane (gully), so one needs to walk approximately 50–100 meters to reach a cab or auto.
Food:
The food was excellent, both in terms of quality and taste. The hotel offers a good mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. I'm a vegetarian, so, I'm only commenting based on that.
The buffet breakfast offers local cuisine, and there is also a rooftop restaurant open in the evenings, which is a pleasant addition.
Please note that a 5% GST along with a 10% service charge is levied on the food bill.
Rooms:
The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and equipped with good amenities, making the stay comfortable.
However, there were a few strands of hair which were not cleaned properly and I had to point it out during check in and that was cleaned later.
Staff and Service:
The staff were courteous, attentive, and very helpful throughout our stay. The overall service experience was positive.
Parking I don't see any Parking place at least 200-500 meters from the Hotel. We did not need parking.
In summary, Gold The Royal offers good accommodation with excellent food and helpful staff. The only drawback lies in the immediate surroundings of...
Read moreWe stayed in this hotel recently and our decision was based on the impressive pictures of the hotel and reviews by the guests. It is a newly renovated hotel, so it is clean. I am glad that it has been maintained relatively clean. The linen and towels provided are very clean and one can tell from the colour of the linen and towels. We had a spacious room which had a double bed and arrangement made for suitcases thoughtfully done. I am bit selective about the bathroom and before checking in I had it checked out – and it is impressive and thoughtfully worked out. The tapware used is that of Grohe and so is the basin. The bathroom is well lit with backlit mirrors and designed so that water does not spill out of the shower. I found the terrace restaurant invitingly decorated with colourful lights hiding the backdrop of the building. The North Indian cuisine at the hotel is better than majority of the well known and expensive restaurants of Delhi. I can mention the names of such restaurants that I had dined in Aero City and Connaught Place which served inferior food than the one I had at this hotel, but it will not be fair. To top it off, staff especially Mehbub at the reception was very helpful and accommodating. Other waiting staff and cleaners were polite and efficient to provide very good service. It is location makes it easier to get to the train station and airport. However, the entrance to the hotel is rather dirty and very narrow but once inside the hotel it is no less than a four star hotel – guess one pays a smaller price...
Read moreI booked this hotel based on its overall 4.9-star rating, but I honestly don’t understand why guests have given it such high reviews.
First, the experience started poorly. The hotel’s hotline was not working when we tried to call, and it only redirected to voicemail. To make matters worse, the Google Maps location was inaccurate. The actual hotel is located in Main Bazar, New Delhi, but you need to walk about 100 meters down a narrow, unpaved road to reach the entrance. This road is so narrow that only motorbikes can pass through, and it’s surrounded by apartments that resemble slums. Dirty water was dripping from the upper floors of the buildings, which made the road even more unpleasant. (I attached few pics on this entrance road)
We had five large suitcases and had to drag all of them through this dirty, narrow pathway. If I had known the hotel lacked a proper entrance, I would never have booked it.
The room itself was okay. It was reasonably clean, and the bathroom was also well-maintained, which is why I’m giving 2 stars overall and 4 stars for the room. However, the bed linen was not clean, so we had to use our own sheets to cover the beds.
Overall, I don’t recommend this hotel at this price. You can definitely find a better option with a proper entrance for the same cost. I’m completely unsatisfied...
