Museum of Illusions, New Delhi Located in the bustling heart of Connaught Place, the Museum of Illusions in New Delhi offers a captivating and interactive experience that challenges perception and sparks curiosity. As India’s first optical illusion museum, this attraction has quickly gained recognition for its unique blend of entertainment, education, and visual intrigue, making it a standout destination for families, friends, and curious minds of all ages.

Ambiance and Accessibility Situated at A 30-33, 1st Floor, A Block, Inner Circle, Connaught Place, near Rajiv Chowk Metro Station (Exit Gate 8), the museum is easily accessible via public transport, just a five-minute walk from the metro. The central location, surrounded by dining and shopping options, enhances its appeal for a day out in Delhi. The venue is clean, well-maintained, and air-conditioned, providing a comfortable escape from the city’s heat. However, it’s worth noting that the museum is not wheelchair-accessible, which may limit access for some visitors.

Exhibits and Experience The Museum of Illusions boasts over 50 mind-bending exhibits, including optical illusions, holograms, and immersive installations that play with perspective and reality. Standout attractions include the Ames Room, where visitors appear to shrink or grow as they move across the space, the Infinity Room with its mesmerizing endless hallway effect, and the Vortex Tunnel, which creates a disorienting sense of imbalance despite a stable floor. Other highlights, such as the Head on a Platter and Beuchet Chair Illusion, offer playful, Instagram-worthy photo opportunities that delight visitors. Each exhibit is accompanied by clear explanations of the science behind the illusions, blending fun with learning in an engaging way. The Smart Playroom, designed to stimulate cognitive function through puzzles, mathematical games, and building blocks, adds an educational dimension, particularly appealing to younger visitors. The museum’s camera-friendly setup ensures that every corner is designed for capturing quirky, shareable moments, making it a hit for social media enthusiasts.

Staff and Service The staff at the Museum of Illusions consistently receive high praise for their friendliness, patience, and expertise. They actively assist visitors in navigating exhibits, explaining the science behind illusions, and helping capture the perfect photo angles, enhancing the overall experience. Their enthusiasm and knowledge contribute significantly to the museum’s welcoming atmosphere.

Value and Duration Tickets are priced at approximately ₹700 per adult, with discounts available for children and online bookings (e.g., a 10% discount via the museum’s website or platforms like BookMyShow). While the price may feel slightly steep for the 60-minute visit, the unique, interactive nature of the experience justifies the cost for a one-time outing. The museum is relatively small, with most visitors completing their tour in under an hour, making it ideal for a quick yet memorable activity. Weekday visits are recommended to avoid crowds and time constraints, as weekends can feel rushed due to the one-hour timeslot.

Overall Impression The Museum of Illusions in New Delhi delivers a delightful mix of fun, science, and creativity, appealing to all age groups. Its innovative exhibits, such as the upside-down rooms, mirror mazes, and holograms, create a playful environment that encourages exploration and wonder. While the museum’s size and ticket price may not suit those seeking a longer or budget-friendly outing, its unique concept and well-executed displays make it a worthwhile visit for those looking for something different in Delhi. The combination of interactive fun, educational insights, and a prime location earns it a strong recommendation for families, couples, and groups seeking a mind-bending adventure.

In short one time visit it deserve but very high cost and...

recently had the chance to visit the Museum of Illusions, and I must say—it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Whether you're a curious adult, a fun-loving teen, or a family with kids, this place has something to amaze, confuse, and delight everyone!

📍 Location & Accessibility

The museum is conveniently located in a central area, making it easy to reach via public transport or private vehicle. The entrance is well-marked, and the welcoming staff at the ticket counter ensured a smooth and friendly check-in process. The entire facility is clean, well-maintained, and wheelchair-accessible—big thumbs up for inclusivity!

🧠 Interactive & Educational

Every exhibit is built around perception, science, psychology, and fun. The installations are designed to trick your brain in the most entertaining ways possible. You'll find:

The Infinity Room – an endless mirror illusion that makes for incredible photos. The Ames Room – where people appear to grow and shrink in seconds. The Vortex Tunnel – a spinning, walk-through tunnel that completely throws off your balance (but is totally safe!). Holograms, puzzles, optical illusions, and upside-down rooms – each one making you question what’s real and what’s not. What I appreciated most was how every illusion is backed with a scientific explanation—great for kids and adults who love to learn while having fun.

📸 Instagram Heaven!

If you're into social media or photography, this place is a gold mine for quirky and surreal photos. The staff is very cooperative and even offers to click your pictures so you don’t miss out on being in the frame.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Perfect for All Ages

Kids were running around in awe, teenagers were clicking selfies, and adults were just as fascinated—proving that the museum truly offers an experience that transcends age. Families will love it as a weekend outing, and couples can make it a fun date spot.

🧩 Bonus: Puzzle Zone & Souvenir Shop

Near the exit is a small but smartly curated Puzzle Zone, where you can try your hands on brain teasers and buy mini illusions or memory games to take home. The gift shop has a fun range of souvenirs and illusion-based toys that make for excellent gifts.

🕒 Time Required

Allow at least 60 to 90 minutes to fully enjoy everything without rushing. If you’re into photography or puzzles, you might end up spending even more time.

🧾 Final Verdict: A Must-Visit! The Museum of Illusions is not just a tourist spot—it's an experience that challenges the way you see the world. With interactive exhibits, scientific insight, and loads of laughs, it’s a must-visit whether you’re a local or a traveler. I highly recommend it for families, school groups, couples, or anyone who loves...

Amazing experience..illusions created were great and some were really beyond the level!!

But we didn't know that tickets have to be booked in advance to avoid waiting time there...so when we reached there at around 6pm...we came to know that we would have to wait for 3 LONG HOURS for our turn to come. And even after Googling about the museum, we couldn't get this information as well that one can book tickets online by visiting their website...after confirming their current visiting hours...because what information we got from Google about its timing was that it remains open till 8.30 pm...wherein actually it was kept open till 10.30pm almost...and our turn itself started at 9 pm! So check the current timings before and book your tickets online in advance..whenever you are planning to visit.

And I felt the ticket price to be somewhat high as compared to the time that they provided...because one literally has to rush to visit everything in the given stipulated time allocated for each section..and yes...one can not move back to the previous section once they moved to other section and missed anything in the previous section...because there are no arrows or directions mentioned on the walls or anywhere to make sure that the visitors know clearly where exactly they've to move ahead ..and a couple of interesting and famous things...like the "inverted three wheeler illusion" and the "tilted room illusion" were a bit secluded from its concerned section...and we were almost about to miss that!

Next I would like to add here ..that there are so many wall hangings illustrations creating illusions...out of which some were easily understandable while many were not...for which the information was given on its side...which you can read and understand how it works....but practically...if you keep reading and then visualizing each and every one of them...then you're sure gonna fall short of your given time to complete the sections. I had to just click the photos of them to see them later at home...and to understand...because even though there were many crew members available...but still many times...one can't find any free member to help them explain and understand the illusion.

However, overall my experience was too good...and "tunnel illusion" was one of the greatest creations of all amongst them. It literally lets you to slip into vertigo...and an out of the world experience!! Though its NOT RECOMMENDED for patients who are having vertigo issues, psychological issues, heart issues or are pregnant, or any other health issues which can get worsened or impact their health negatively.

But overall..its a nice place to visit for all..no matter what...

But overall..its a nice place to visit for all..no matter what age you are!!
