Okay, so this place was going to be a 3* before our last night there. Then it turned to a 2*. We booked this place last-minute because another place we were in was not great. The management literally lent me 145 rupees to pay for our cab when we hadn't yet exchanged money yet, so that was amazing. We were happy with the room when we first arrived because it was so much better than the other low-quality place we were at. However, we just had problems from there. The AC was super finicky and would go out many times. We even came back to the hotel once and it had flooded our entire floor near the bathroom/kitchen area. We had to wear sandals/shoes the entire time inside the room and dragged water everywhere. Not pleasant. We asked them if we could change rooms and they said they were all full and couldn't switch our room. We also had the power go out a few times while we were in the city. NO HOT WATER for any of our showers. The last night (Saturday night), a new guest checked in and had a party. They had INCREDIBLY loud music and loud talking and drinking going on. It wouldn't have been completely terrible if it stopped at 10pm (usually a normal noise curfew time), but they didn't even get into the room until 1am. We immediately were worked up and completely disturbed from our sleep. It went on over a half hour before me with all my Karen attitude, marched down to the front desk and pulled out the b*tch. The management said "they will be done at 4am" (referring to the party- I am SURE the new guest was a friend of the hotel). They also offered to switch our room, but I was so exhausted, I couldn't get myself to move my stuff in the middle of the night because someone else was having a party. The management said they would call the guest and the music finally turned off (or turned low enough we couldn't hear through our earplugs anymore) around 230. Basically the biggest redeeming factor of this hotel was the location. It was RIGHT next to Vanoba Puri Metro station, which was a huge lifesaver for us getting around the city. It was incredibly cheap and took about 35-40 mins to get to Lal Quila (Red Fort and Chandni Chowk station). If you aren't looking for modern comforts, but good location, this may be the place for you. Otherwise, look elsewhere. We were there 3 nights....
ย ย ย Read moreI would request to have discovered this online , to please read my review and not book it. Would have given it zero stars if I could. I'm only wasting my time here to warn others about this scam of a hotel, so they don't have to suffer like my family did.
So, this was supposed to be a family stay with my elderly parents. Let me break down this nightmare:
No Geyser: They mentioned in the amenities having a geyser, but guess what? No geyser. When we asked for hot water, they said Delhi's July weather is warm enough. Seriously?! That's their reason? My dad's health requires hot water, but they couldn't care less.
Disgusting Breakfast: Complimentary breakfast, they said. After multiple calls, an unprofessional service guy finally shows up, demanding money for breakfast. When we refused to pay, he vanished for 40 minutes and returned with cold parathas, chole in flimsy disposables, and chai in paper cups, clearly from a street vendor. Pathetic!
No Wi-Fi: Asked for the Wi-Fi password multiple times, only to be given the wrong one. The reception guy admitted he didn't know the correct password and promised to get back to me. But expectedly: he never did and I gave up.
Water Flow Issues: The bathroom taps had terrible water flow. A service guy blamed us and joked on not knowing how to turn on taps.
No Bucket and Mug: Despite numerous requests for a bucket and mug since check-in, we never got them. Not once.
No Bathroom Tissues: Youโre on your own here.
No Room Key: If you need to leave your room, you have to inform the receptionist every time. They use a master smart key card to open all rooms. You get it, open your door, then return it. Is this how you run a hotel?
Rude Receptionist: When checking out, I politely expressed my disappointment despite the suffering my elderly parents endured. The receptionist didn't apologize; she blamed us, saying we checked in late. The hotel owner must teach her that hotels are supposed to operate โ24/7โ
