Review for Hotel Shreeguru, Delhi
My stay at Hotel Shreeguru was extremely disappointing and far below expectations. Although the hotel is newly furnished and appears decent in the photos, the overall experience was one of the worst I have ever had.
The staff, mostly very young, lacked basic hospitality and social etiquette. They seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to guests. There was a clear absence of professionalism, courtesy, and respect toward visitors. Their approach appeared to be purely money-oriented, with little understanding of what genuine guest service means.
The location is another major concern. The hotel is situated in a congested, unhygienic lane that is inaccessible even for a tuk-tuk. We had to carry all our heavy luggage through a narrow pathway filled with dirt and garbage. The surrounding area resembles a shanty town, with people washing, bathing, and cooking on the roadside — a highly unpleasant environment for any traveler.
Inside the hotel, the rooms are small and poorly maintained. There were no basic amenities such as hot water, storage space, or wall cupboards. We had to repeatedly request for essentials like towels, soap, and clean bedding, which should have been provided by default. The bed linen and pillow covers were not changed, showing a complete lack of care for hygiene.
Overall, despite its modern look in pictures, this property fails in almost every aspect of hospitality. I would strongly advise travelers to avoid this hotel and look for more reliable and professional...
Read moreNestled in the slums of Paharganj, very close to New Delhi Railway Station, this is not a hotel but a basic lodge and an extremely poor one at that. The surroundings are dirty and unsafe. We booked a non-AC room through Booking.com and even paid ₹400 extra for early check-in. On arrival, we were utterly disappointed. The rooms are tiny, claustrophobic, and unhygienic. Ventilation is almost nonexistent the only small window had to remain shut as it opened directly to the neighboring slum where people could peep inside. The facilities advertised on the booking app are misleading. No towels, no soap, no shower gel, no bathrobe nothing was provided. The fan hardly worked, and the rooms were damp and filthy. Initially, we were put in a three-bed room and later shifted to the one we had booked, but even there the fan didn’t function properly. Despite requesting room cleaning and at least a doormat (as the floor was wet from the washroom), nothing was done. When we returned late at night, the room was still dirty. Upon raising the issue and asking for a refund, the reception staff were rude and dismissive, leading to a heated argument. My request for an AC room (even for the last few hours) was denied, though eventually we were shifted to yet another dirty room. With an early morning check-out, we had no choice but to stay. Overall: A pathetic and unsafe experience. The place is misrepresented online, and you will regret booking it. Strongly advise against...
Read moreI request everyone to please read this review completely and not get influenced by the positive reviews, because I too went there after seeing them. I have stayed in hotels in almost every city in India, but I have never come across a worse hotel than this. Denied giving rooms keys they keep them with there self, you have to ask for open the room every time you go outside of the hotel,Rude staff and bakwas service, To turn on the AC or fan, you have to go to the reception every time if you step out of the hotel, When I asked, I found out that even in the same room there are different categories, and some helper keep saying that apka kaun sa reservation hai ordinary or acha wala, The boy at the reception took the cash payment and disappeared somewhere without giving any bill or proof of payment,For a stay of barely four to five hours, having so much difficulties I checkout early because they switch off AC from main switch (I don’t know why) I ended up paying one thousand rupees with worst express ever. Please stay away from this...
