We booked this resort for the duration of three night .we had an amazing time over here , the resort is perfectly located, in house dining was the highlight of our trip , I really liked the taste of crispy calamari with tartar sauce ,though breakfast buffet was somewhat ok . One evening we booked the riverside Cubana to make our vacation memorable, they served us well . Sunday is famous for Reggae parties in this resort , it was very loud and noisy as we had our cottage near the dance floor.if someone is not accustomed to loud base music ,he should think twice taking a room near dance floor , keeping on season sunday in mind , better to avoid if your not fond of Reggae. this resort is very beautifully landscaped . Mandrem Beach is accessible by just crossing a bridge from resort.

checkin time was 3 pm, and we reached hotel at 3.10 pm. We were informed at reception that rooms are not yet ready, so they told us to go for lunch first. Once we finished our punch and went back to reception around 4.30 pm, when they gave us cottages. After this, the miserable experience continued. Pathetic experience in terms of Housekeeping. Red ants freely moving over the bedsheets, in 3 of our 4 cottages. Dead 🪳 lying on the corners of room. AC unit was showering continuous water in the room forcing us to move all our luggage at different corner. Multiple soiled food dishes (may be used by previous guests) lying exactly in front of our room doors when we called housekeeping staff, they had no clue how to manage. we requested them to change the rooms. After so much discussions, they agreed to give us new rooms, but told us that these rooms are being cleaned up (at 4.45 pm) and again, they told us why don't you move around the beach, and by the time they prepare the rooms and will shift the luggage in new rooms. We agreed and went to beach. when we came back, at 7.15 pm, our luggage was still lying in our old rooms, and when we asked reception, they told that, the new rooms are getting cleaned. not a single person we find at reception and front desk office, on whim we can trust and tell our problems. Even 4 hours after scheduled checkin time, their rooms were not ready. My children and we all were so tired by this time, we had left with no energy to think about changing our hotel at that time. finally, around 8.15 pm, we got rooms, but the expressions and facial expressions on the face of staff was, like we were asking for something extraordinary. our lunch was on ala carte basis and it was good, but the buffet dinner and morning buffet breakfast were very much below standard. though the resort was on good location and may be other people might have got good experience, we 8 people are very much unhappy and dissatisfied with our experience at Riva beach resort, Mandrem Beach. We personally don't recommend to others and request to find other options. I hope, resort management will take this feedback seriously and take actions to improve the experience of their guests in future.

Thanks for...

We had booked the resort for 2 nights.

Location of the hotel is very good, very close proximity to the beach is an added advantage. Property is great but poorly maintained. Considering the room rate the check Inn experience was nothing special. Guest are not even escorted to the front desk nor any of the staff makes you aware of the welcome drinks available. Welcome drinks stay in one corner counter starting at the arriving guests. After check in the bell boys don't even give any efforts to tell you about the USPs about the property, they just want to dump the luggage in the room and run away. Entering the room we found out that the room was not hygienecally cleaned. Housekeeping had put minimal efforts in getting the room ready. Bed linen was filthy with big stains which was not even changed after the previous check out. Towels were again with stains. Desk phone was full of beach sand and was smelling. Lot of dust accumulated under bed with lost and found of other guests. Pillows were with fungus which were changed later when we showed to the hotel staff Bathroom was not cleaned properly. Shower glass had lot of soap stains. Vanity mirror with stains. WC was not cleaned for ages with thick brown marks. Hand towels and bath mats are not provided. Housekeeping desperately need training to improve the quality to take resort to the basic cleanliness standards.

Food in the restaurant was great even room service is good. The only drawback you could see in the restaurant is when it gets crowded they run out of glasses and spoons. Staff just leaves the guest unattended, used plates are left for more than 30 minutes on the empty tables. Service staff can focus on clearing the tables faster for uninterrupted rotation of cutlery and crockery. One more thing which I noticed was lifeguard was not to be seen on the secondary pools nor the warning signs.

Overall just want to say the management should look into the things which could educate the team and avoid simple mistakes. Hopefully you guys will do a great job and rectify the things and give us nice experience in our future...

Pathetic. Place is good but what can i say about their staff. Pathetic. They are clueless statues that just stand there with no answer to any of your queries. Very bad, Shivam is next in line to manager but cannot manage a simple check in request. The manager Deepesh is equally bad. Everything from our check in, to our breakfast was ruined coz the staff here is not capable enough to even manage a beachside shack. We were forced to share our table with one of the guests without our permission. Couldn't remove cats from our breakfast table, just went about as if it's nothing if the guests are not friendly to pets. I was forced to leave in middle of my meal. They are dumb ( I hate to use this word for any human being, but how do you justify a staff looking aimlessly left n right when you ask them your check in time, or you ask for a table reservation) . After ruining our vacation, they did not even have the warmth to offer to make our experience manageable. All the staff needs to be sent back to school to learn basics, especially Shivam n Deepesh since they call themselves senior and cannot manage a, simple escalation.

Note to management n the owners- just hiring a bunch of clueless high school kids and putting them into uniforms would not help. Pls invest in training your staff and at least spend money to get couple of good supervisors who understand the hospitality businesses and are...
