Though I don’t often indulge in writing reviews, the splendid experience my family and I shared at Riva Beach Resort, Mandrem Road, Pernem, Goa compels me to do so. I was looking for a place to celebrate my parents’ Golden Wedding Anniversary as well as my wife’s birthday, preferably with good food to add to the proceedings (especially North Indian food). As I live in Dubai and am quite busy with my work, it was quite difficult to find a good location and plan and execute a grand celebration on my own. My friends, especially Mr Vivek Tickoo & Mr Sudhir Kumar Singh, helped me lot to fetch out the same. Though it rained pretty consistently during our stay, given the onset of monsoon in Goa, the resort staff helped sort everything out. Besides very good food (mixture of North Indian, South Indian & Chinese), the rooms were aptly clean. Plenty of umbrellas were quick and efficiently provided for all the guests, a commendable feat given that we were a large cohort of individuals. We booked around 15 rooms, mixture of all categories, for around 4 days. Premium Cottage Sea view rooms are the best. Superior Rooms with garden view are little bit congested but are okay, otherwise. An issue with few of the Superior Rooms with garden view was that the rain water used to sip inside & the staff provided no solution for the same. On the bright side, however, the resort has plenty of greenery around with easy access to the beach which made the stay quite memorable. Every member of the staff was courteous and helpful. With their support we were able to conduct our celebration in the best way possible and not only our guests but also the staff and other resort occupants seemed to enjoy it given the open location given to us for the proceedings of the celebration by the resort (it was an open, rain proof area located right by the main entrance). The overall hospitality extended to my family and all the guests, by the entire managerial staff, was greatly appreciated. The help and service provided by Rutuja, Salim and Aandu facilitated the entire process for us and helped our evenings flow with comfort and ease. The exemplary warmth and service provided by Divya Singh, at the F&B counter, with her ever smiling nature & prompt service, added much...

Read moreThe main restaurant of Riva Beach Resort. The complimentary breakfast served here was really good with a big spread and also with live egg and dosa stations. Menu is not repetitive and changes everyday. Now coming to the bad part. The food other than the breakfast. Ordered a fresh lime soda which was okay and too sweet. Then ordered a Basa fish fillet dish, chicken steak and chicken stroganoff. All the three dishes were undercooked, bland, the meat was chewy and tasteless and the veggies along with the dish was plain and raw. Even the chicken salt and pepper starter was the worst dish I have ever tasted. Overall great view, awesome staff service and decent ambience. But the food is a big let down. Needs to improve the continental...
