Last weekend we spent less than 48 hours in Ahmedabad to watch the Cricket World Cup… England versus Australia (now world champs!) 🇬🇧🇦🇺 It was short but sweet… here’s a few of my recommendations if you find yourself in #ahmedabad in India 🇮🇳 1. I highly recommend eating at House Of MG and Café Tilla. House of MG has the best Thali in Ahmedabad (all veggie!) and extremely tasty. The saffron ice cream was also beautiful. Café Tilla is also a great breakfast spot… make sure you try the Paneer and Chilli toastie! 2. There’s lot of hotels in Ahmedabad but we ended up staying at the Fairfield by Marriott. It wasn’t fancy but clean and did the job for the night! I think next time I would love to stay somewhere more historic like House or MG though! 3. The best way to get around is by tuk tuk! This might seem a bit daunting at first but it’s the fastest and easiest way to get from place to place. Tuk tuks are also available on Uber! 4. Make sure you visit the historic Manek Chowk market. It’s super busy but you get a real taste of India, the culture and food. I would be wary with what you eat but even if you don’t eat, I highly recommend walking around and visiting the famous monument which the market is named after! The streets around here also very beautiful and filled with lots of food and culture.
