A Deeply Disappointing Experience at Cafe Natrani đ
For months, I have been a regular patron of Cafe Natrani, nestled within the culturally esteemed Darpana Academy.
It has been my go-to space to work and relax, where I typically order tea and stay for longer hours, consistently spending over âč400 per visit.
However, my visit on April 29, 2025, was so disheartening that Iâve vowed never to return.
After ordering my usual tea, I followed my routine of settling in to work.
Due to a health issue, I had to spend an extended period in the washroom.
Upon returning, I was shocked to find that the staff had moved my belongingsâmy laptop, its pouch, and my notebookâto a cramped, narrow side table, despite two full tables remaining completely vacant.
I was about to place an additional order when a staff member at the counter rudely informed me that "you cannot sit in the cafe for more than an hour," citing the ownerâs orders.
The tone was dismissive and entirely unwarranted, especially in a nearly empty cafe where my consistent patronage should have earned basic respect.
This incident stands in stark contrast to the values of warmth, art, and culture that Darpana Academy represents.
The staffâs inexplicable decision to relocate my belongings to an uncomfortable table when ample seating was available, coupled with their discourteous attitude, left me feeling disrespected and unwelcome.
A cafe tied to such a prestigious institution should embody hospitality, particularly toward loyal customers who follow a predictable routine of supporting the establishment.
I urge the management to reflect on this incident and take steps to prevent such behavior.
A space meant to foster creativity and connection should never alienate its patrons.
Regrettably, this experience has ended my association with Cafe Natrani, despite the fondness I once held for it.
Sincerely, A Disheartened...

Read moreI feel very very insulting by the care taker and security, when I have visited this cafe for the first time.
The ambience and surroundings were quite pleasant and few customers were having their snacks. After finishing my tea and snacks, I was reading the hoarding and roaming the cafe just to see which other activities are going on inside the premises just for my curiosity.
The caretaker said it's a restricted area, though there was no sign board. I said I am a first time visitor and just see the surroundings. Then, he allowed me to go. Later on, again a security guy came and insulted me in a very bad tone. I feel embarrassed and didn't expect such kind of behaviour at such a decent place.
Then, I came to know that's why people are not coming here and the cafeteria is almost empty.
Another experience in food also, I asked for the recommendation of a sandwich. The guy suggested cheese chilly toast. But it was not a sandwich, it was like a cheese bread toast and it was not mentioned in the menu also. That is also fine, but the way the behaviour of security and caretaker was the worst, I never faced this kind of experience in such a premium place.
I won't visit this place again.
