I booked three nights stay through OYO with per night charge of Rs 741. At the time of check-in, I was bluntly told I must pay per night charge of Rs 1,000 or else I can do whatever I want. I went there with 4 heavy bags at 3PM when it's too hot in Ahmedabad. It felt like being helpless and blackmailed.
I was forced to call OYO customer care. The OYO property in charge told the hotel reception "300 leke bhagao" (take Rs 300 and close the matter).
I told the hotel in-charge person that I will just check-in and leave, won't be staying here for two nights as I was to travel. So, it wont consume electricity for AC. He was then ok to let me check in.
Two nights later, I wanted to check out (i.e. one night earlier). The hotel person told me I will have to do it through OYO as I did my booking through OYO. This would mean I will pay the same amount regardless of early check out.
The person did not want to follow OYO at the time of check-in because the rates were less than his expectations, but was so clear to follow it when it came to early check out.
If they think OYO is not working for them, they should immediately dissociate themselves with OYO. Why in the first place accept booking through OYO and then do all these drama and tantrums.
If you know OYO is giving your rooms at the rates which you can't afford, why are you sticking to them. It's so simple and straight forward. Don't complicate it. You are working with double standards.

Read moreWhen oyo's app shows a price and you book it then the hotel manager keep sending cancellation request on your behalf. When oyo customet care conferenced me with him he clearly says we dont accept booking at low prices. Then somehow we went and checked in. THR WORST EVER EXPERIENCE STARTS HERE.
The people are worst, cheap and no manners to speak to a customer. Then the room booked was not the one given. It was all their plan. The room was in worst condition. COCROACHES, ELECTRICAL WIRINGS OPEN AND HANGING, BATHROOM WORST THAN A PUBLIC TOILET. No infront of you sanitization. Forget about it. Then comes the OYO customer care, i reported it by call and it got disconnected. They didnt even care to call me back. So FORGET ABOUT GETTING ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE. In the morning, When checkin out, the front desk people just threw my id cards which they kept with them. TALKING VERY INDECENTLY,AND I WAS WITH MY FAMILY.
CHEAPEST PEOPLE I HAVE EVER SEEN AND THEY ARE AMONG THE PEOPLE ALSO SPOILING AHMEDABAD REPUTATION.
NOW COMES THE CUSTOMER CARE, EVENTUALLY THEY PUT THE BLAME ON ME. AND STILL I HAVE NOT RECIEVED A SINGLE CALL BACK FOR SUCH TYPE COMPLAINT WHERE SAFETY IS A CONCERN.
So i will NEVER EVER RECOMMEND OYO to anyone. And i myself is not going to use it anymore.OYO you just lost one...
