This hidden dine in is a cosy, lil place that serves authentic Parsi food. They serve some amazing dishes on their Menu and have already become a favourite amongst Non Vegetarians in town! If you are a Eggetarian you would be able to enjoy some great Egg Dishes too and they also have a handful of Vegetarian items for those who prefer Veg.
As you walk in there are a few seats so only a limited no of tables, minimalist ambiance but extremely soothing. Pre book your table & the caramel custard if you do not want to miss out on the delicious dessert!
What we had : • Armeen’s Akuri - Basically a Masaledar Egg Bhurji served with Toast it was really good (10/10) • Patra Nu Paneer - Cause Vegetarian, otherwise their suggested dish is the Patra Nu Machli • Chicken Keema Pav - The Keema was perfect, served with buttery pav perfect combo to relish. • Chutney Eeda Patty - Boiled Egg fry with the best green chutney stuffed inside and served on the side, something I tried for the first time and it was fairly decent. • Pallonji Soda - The Lemon was super refreshing so you should pick that one up for sure! • Caramel Custard - One of the best caramel custards I have personally tried, it was set perfectly an absolute banger. Make sure you pre book it if you wish to savour this. • Kesar Phirni - Another amazing dessert with dry fruits pick it up if you want a good end to your meal.
Service was really quick, if you go in on a working day you’ll be served within minutes toh khaake jaldi office bhi ja paoge!
The place is certainly worth the hype and word of mouth, if you havent tried Parsi Cuisine then this is the Restaurant to visit! You can call and book your tables for the weekend because it is a small walk in and they might not...
Read moreI always wanted to try authentic Parsi cuisine and I am so glad that I went to The Bawa Bistro for my first experience.
Ordered Bharuchi Akuri, Russian Cutlets, Bhatia Nu Paneer and of course Dhansak.
The Bharuchi Akuri is my new favourite egg dish in the world. It was soooooo beautiful. Such a perfect balance of taste, texture and flavours. Creamy scrambled eggs with cashews and raisins. When I saw the description I was wondering why would someone put dry fruits in Scrambled Eggs but I was so wrong about it! I can taste it even when I am typing this and I can’t wait to have it again.
The Russian Cutlets were great. Perfectly crispy on the outside and cheesy creamy mashed potatoes inside. Never tried something like this. Very satisfying.
The Bhatia Paneer was nice. Nothing special as such. But I tried it on their recommendation. Not a bad dish but can be skipped if you want to try something else.
The Dhansak was perfect. Loved the flavoured rice with caramelised onions and the daal was the best. Very delicious.
I had my eyes set on Mango Falooda and Caramel Custard in the menu but we were too stuffed after all this food. Perhaps next time I will go just for the Akuri and the desserts.
If you notice, I have not clicked any photographs of the food. That is because it all looked and tasted so good that I forgot to take pictures and just kept on eating as soon as the dishes kept arriving at the table.
The service is nice and polite. Also quite quick considering that we went on a Sunday.
The prices are reasonable.
The place is small yet cosy.
Would definitely visit again and I recommend it if you wish to try...
Read moreBawa Bistro came as a recommendation on Instagram. The whole package seemed interested so we decided to experiment.
Located in a quiet corner of a foodie market, it's easy to miss the place if one does not look carefully.
It's a small establishment with 2 small and one large table for dine in or 4 small tables that seat 4 people each. It's best to pre- book to avoid disappointment cause if you don't get a table, you will be highly disappointed.
We ordered the farcha chicken - a delightful fried chicken which was cooked just right. No extra oil dripping. The pieces of chicken were cut properly and were of adequate size and meaty enough . Came with mayonnaise on the side.
Next was mutton keema with pillowy soft pavs , sliced onion and lemon wedges. Mind-blowing.
Finally we had salli chicken with roti. I had potato shreds sprinkled on chicken curry for the first time and I was blown away.
The food is downright delicious, non greasy, hygienically prepared and the chicken of good quality.
We skipped the dessert but the owner did recommend caramel custard.
Excellent excellent food. Definitely a go...
