I search for a number of hotels in the area and this was probably the best I could get, or so I thought. I should have paid more attention to the reviews. Creating business opportunities in the city of Haldwani is important, but this Hotel just does not know how to even treat the basic guest. This is a shame because the people and the area are fantastic. This hotel does not deserve to be part of the Comfort Inn chain. It's a disgrace and Comfornt Inn Wordwide Management need to pay this place a visit.||||I wanted a good room as was offered the presidential suite (at a discount thankfully), which I thought would be the best room in the city. How wrong I was. What a disappointment. I did look at other rooms around the city and I should have gone with my instinct at the time. To be honest, I just could not be bothered to repack and move. My own fault.||||So what's bad about this place? The Service is the main problem. It is just appalling. I would swear the staff have never seen a training day in how to perform basic customer service. They dress like local labourers and you would not know if they were hotel staff.||||The room I had was big, but big does not mean good. Sparse layout, long room. Lots of things didn't work. Because of the problems with non-English speaking staff, getting anything fixed or done is just impossible. Security safe didn't work, bathroom mirrors hanging off, electric hairdryer hanging off and dangerous.||||The room had a big bath and I though this will be great...again, problem with how to actually fill the bath. Plug does not work and water runs out immediately. Anyway, it would have taken a week to fill the bath as the water floor is very slow and poor. Taps just don't work properly. It's such a basic, but the problem is trying to explain to someone the problem and getting it fixed.||||The laundry is done for you and low cost. You get what you pay for. If a guest is staying in the top suite, on business, then a simple pressing is so easy to do. What you get back I can honestly say, that they pressed my clothes with a cold brick. It came back with more creases than I had originally. That is just so unacceptable. Again, how to convey your dismay at the results which I paid for. It is just not worth the hassle. I could have done 10 times better myself, seriously.||||The Restaurant is not even what a call one. It's more like a place for staff to mingle and do very little. The food choices are limited compared to what is actually on the menu. They do not have al lot of items, so your choice will diminish very quickly if staying for longer than a few days.||||The Restaurant staff are clueless. I ordered a starter (hot) and just as I'm starting to eat my starter, along comes my main course, which is now going to sit there for around 15 mins and go cold. This is basic serving skills and they just don't get it. It's very hard to explain and even worse to try and complain. Pointless. Last night I arrived in the Restaurant at 8pm, no-one around. I sat at a table for 15 mins and not one person came out of the kitchen to see if any guests were there. With 5 staff and no customers, the least they could do is clean the menus. They are dirty and disguising with food on them. Basic hygiene.||||Mountain view? You're having a laugh. They are there somewhere, jus tnot really from this hotel. The star gazers area is a dirty filthily wire strewn roof area where at night, you are taking your life in your hands. No lighting (of course it;'s for Stargazing), but to see the wires and iron rods sticking ut everywhere is just poor for health and safety. Again, basic stuff.||||The Hotel through out is dank and dim. It is in poor repair and everywhere needs some kind of cost of paint or varnish on the furniture. It is not maintained in any way. It's like a hotel trying to survive, not part of a Worldwide chain.||||I was in the room once whilst they cleaned. It's big enough for me to be out of their way. it took them 8 mins to clean it. I just didn't see how they could do it so fast? Quick bed change, a wipe and they are away. Shoddy service. I see other hotels around the world and they don't clean a room in 8 mins.||||The rooms are noisy (toilet flushes running down walls), the WIFI is probably home made and doesn't reach a lot of parts of the hotel, except when you stand next to it in reception with the so called reception staff.||||I have stayed in one star places and they do a much better job of running a hotel that this place.||||The owner needs to visit and so do Comfort Inn Management in the Asia Region. I hope you are reading this review, but I'm not the first to rate as poor and won't be the last. The problems will not go away by themselves. They need a big audit and a shake up.||||In summary, I regret not moving and going with my instincts. There is a Hotel 100 yards up the road which is better. I know, as I went there to see it.||||My worse regret was having to pay for the hotel, which I will do tomorrow. I can't wait to get out of there. I'm off to Nepal and Kathmandu and staying in a $36 room which is 10 times better than this place which costs 5 times more. I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with the way your banquet hall was managed during my engagement event. It was supposed to be a memorable and joyous occasion, but it turned into an absolute disaster, and I feel the need to bring this to your attention so that you are aware of how your establishment is being run.
Firstly, I paid a significant amount for the event, with the expectation that my guests and I would be treated to a wonderful evening with good food and service. However, to my dismay, no food and drinks were provided throughout the event. When my fiancée and I finally sat down to eat, the food was served cold not just to us but also to our family and guests. This was embarrassing and completely unacceptable.
Additionally, we had specifically requested for dinner to be served at 9 PM, but it was inexplicably delayed until 10:30 PM. The delay was not communicated to us, and as a result, some of our guests had to leave without having any food at all. This lack of professionalism and disregard for our schedule and the well-being of our guests was highly disappointing.
Furthermore, the decorations, which were supposed to enhance the ambiance of the event, were completely different from what we had requested. We had requested the opportunity to speak to the decorator a few days before the event to ensure that our vision was properly executed, but your staff denied us this basic courtesy.
As if the above issues were not enough, the accommodations provided by your hall were also a letdown. We had booked more than 15 rooms with you, all of which were meant to be triple occupancy. We specifically asked for extra beds to be placed in all the rooms, but our request was ignored. The housekeeping service was poorly managed, with only one person bringing one mattress at a time, causing me to stay up until 1 AM trying to sort out the sleeping arrangements for my guests. Some of the rooms were in appalling conditions, with flooded toilets, making it impossible for my family to use them, forcing them to seek alternatives in other rooms. (Some room were good but overall experience was very bad)
In conclusion, my experience at your banquet hall was nothing short of a nightmare. I had envisioned my engagement day to be a joyous and unforgettable event, but it was tarnished by the incompetence and negligence displayed by your staff. The exorbitant amount of money I paid to host this event at your establishment was not justified in any way. I hope that you take this review seriously and take immediate steps to rectify the issues and improve the overall management and service quality of your banquet hall.

Read moreI have always believed that a repeat customers are your brand ambassadors. Those who are unable to recognize that, will not be able to survive for long. Check-in was effortless, to my surprise, we were offered the same floor and the same rooms. I was delighted because the rooms were plush and reminded me of the good time I had in my last visit. But, the surprise changed to disappointment when I saw the deterioration, which was more than evident. The AC duct was noisy, the furniture polish was fading (it was looking old) The room was getting smelly. The overhead shower was defective needed replacement. The food was good, but the service was average earlier, which has deteriorated further. The dinner was offered without proper utensils in the room service. They offered couple of small bottled water but refused complimentary replacement. The cost of food was high as per the city standards. The final nail in the coffin was when we ordered breakfast (eggs to order) we were not even given what was mentioned in the menu card the toasts and hash-brown, fries were missing.
