This hotel was the absolute worst part of my trip. First and foremost, all the staff—manager, receptionist, room service, restaurant manager—were incredibly rude and unprofessional. They assigned us a room at the back of the main property, which was in terrible condition. Dust covered the bed and carpet. We visited in June when the temperature was extremely high, and the room was non-AC. After a heated argument with the manager and our agent, they moved us to a room on the second floor of the main building. This room was also in awful condition. Moisture covered the walls, and not a single electric socket was working. The toilet was extremely unhygienic, and they provided third-rate soap and shampoo. There was no air conditioning, only a table fan placed in front of the bed, which didn’t even cover the entire bed. An unnecessary ceiling fan was installed over the sitting area. They provided cheap, unknown-brand mineral water (Aquafly). The food was unhygienic, with flies all over the restaurant, even landing on the food. In summary, this hotel is a nightmare. Avoid it at all costs if you value your comfort, health, and sanity.

This ancient piece of graveyard should have closed down in Covid. Badluck for us it did not. Pathetic room, worse service attitude from the receptionist and a few of the bell boys. We reached with another bunch of folks from Haryana who were in our flight from Delhi, they right away checked the room and left realising what all was wrong- wifi, heater and attitude. We made a blunder of not checking anything and paid dearly. 4500 rs room per day is not cheap at all and these rooms had not even a kettle. The bathroom had no exhaust and room stinked like urine if you open bathroom door. All that was just top of iceberg, the main problem we realized at night when we shivered and couldn't sleep due to cold. The problem was not solved even on our last day 4th day. Tried all methods, we were trapped as we paid in advance. AVOID AT ALL COST.

I recently stayed at Shahenshan Palace and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The hotel staff were incredibly rude and lacked basic hospitality skills. They do not know how to speak to guests respectfully. It would benefit them greatly to travel to other states and learn proper guest interaction. The rooms were in terrible condition—smelly and dusty, which made for an uncomfortable stay. Although the food tasted good, it was unhygienic; we found a fly in it. The room offered no view. I strongly urge the hotel industry to revisit this establishment and reconsider its 3-star rating. It should be downgraded to a normal hotel until significant improvements are made. For reference, I'm attaching a picture of the staff who contributed to this unpleasant experience.

I recently stayed at Hotel Shahenshah Palace, beautifully nestled near the banks of Dal Lake, Srinagar, during my visit for the Chinar Book Festival 2025 held at SKICC. From check-in to check-out, my experience was extremely comfortable, relaxing, and satisfying.

The hotel offers a peaceful ambiance with breathtaking views of the lake and the surrounding hills. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained with modern interiors. The Wi-Fi was reliable throughout the property, which helped me stay connected and work without interruptions.

One of the highlights of the hotel is its indoor swimming pool — clean, temperature-controlled, and perfect for relaxing after a long day. Their in-house restaurant serves delicious food with a variety of local Kashmiri and North Indian dishes. The service staff was courteous, attentive, and always ready to assist with a smile.

Other amenities like 24x7 room service, hot water, secure parking, and laundry are readily available. The hotel’s location is ideal — just a few minutes away from SKICC, which makes it a perfect stay option for delegates and travelers attending events there.

Overall, Hotel Shahenshah Palace is a blend of comfort, class, and Kashmiri hospitality. Highly recommended for business travelers, tourists, and anyone visiting Srinagar for events...
