Considering- Ganpati Hotels, Katra as a part of IHD hotel chains, we booked our stay for MATA Darshan. But unfortunately on check-out day, we booked Tempo traveler through hotel in house travel staff by considering their BRAND security and team assurance about good services and driver professionalism as females & kids were also in the group. Although, we have been charged 30-40% extra for the tour as compared to local outside vendors.
To save more money by hotel travel desk staff, they gave as a very cheap category driver, who was very unprofessional, non-cooperative, a driver who was very rigid and keep arguing & fighting with females specially when we requested to pick up from parking spots only (as kids are small) even though wide roads were there. It was a high time about his misbehavior on road and when we contacted hotel travel staff Mr. Parekh for support and inform about his behavior- Mr. Parekh conveyed us a message to avoid arguing with the driver to save your-self as he is a local person. As a result, we didn't complete full trip properly and still had paid full amount.
Now, due to this travel desk staff experience, I felt the Hotel might also not be safe for families although it’s under IHD HOTEL CHAIN. As GUEST security and care doesn't seems to be Hotel First priority before aligning any driver or other staff in serving guest. I just request HOTEL Management to allow only professional staff at travel or other service desk, who works towards your guest security but not MONEY!!
Now we, our group families & friends will not visit at any IHD...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing stay at Ganpati Hotel in Katra. One of the most glaring issues was the misleading photos displayed in their gallery. The images of the rooms shown online are completely different from the actual rooms, which are poorly maintained and in desperate need of a fresh coat of paint.
When we arrived, we were shocked to find that our room looked nothing like the photos. The walls were dirty and scuffed, clearly not painted in a long time. The furniture was old and worn out, and the overall state of the room was far from what was advertised. It felt like a bait-and-switch situation.
Adding to the disappointment, the service was terrible. The manager, Manjeet, was extremely rude and unprofessional, using offensive language when we brought up our concerns. Basic amenities were not provided, and our repeated requests for towels and toiletries were ignored. The hotel facilities were also subpar. The Wi-Fi barely worked, and the restaurant served cold, tasteless food at exorbitant prices. The entire property seemed neglected, with several areas in dire need of repair and refurbishment.
Given the false advertising, poor maintenance, and appalling service, I strongly advise against staying at Ganpati Hotel. Read moreAfter a difficult journey of many hours from Shrinagar,we reached Katra.We entered our hotel GANPATI and found it to be very grand with a helpful and trained staff.We forgot our tiredness and relaxed in our comfortable ,well furnished rooms.Owing to my difficulty in walking they made all the arrangements on the ground floor.The food was very tasty too.Would strongly recommend Hotel Ganapati to those who are planning to go for Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Darshan to Katra and searching for a nearby hotel serving only vegetarian food.It is near the market so ATMs and network connectivity are easily available.
