Buddha Beach Hotel — Hotel in Kerala

We recently had a horrible experience at Buddha Beach Hotel and wanted to share this to help others make an informed decision. We booked four rooms for three days and were asked to pay the full amount upfront to confirm the booking. Trusting that we were dealing with their official number, we made the payment and received an invoice on the property's official letterhead, which seemed legitimate at the time.

However, when we arrived at the property, the person at the office informed us that the manager we had been dealing with was a fraud and had run off with the money, and the owner had filed a complaint against the manager. The property refused to honor our booking even though we had all the proofs and invoice copy. After a heated argument with the property owner, we were left with no choice but to call the local police.

Thankfully, the police arrived and helped us pressure the owner into providing three rooms, with a promise to arrange the fourth by evening. However, throughout our stay, we never received the fourth room, and there was no room service at all.

Additionally, while the property is near the beach, access to it is extremely difficult. Cars cannot reach the hotel directly, requiring a ~400 meter walk with all your luggage. The last 1 km to the nearest parking area is steep, tricky, and dangerous, demanding a highly skilled driver.

Overall, this was the worst experience, especially since we were traveling with kids and senior citizens. I strongly advise against booking this property, especially if you're traveling with family or expecting...

Cons Not suitable for Senior citizens or families, more like backpackers friendly stay Very limited services, No Meals available. Rooms are basic. No generator backup for the electricity, during summers, it will be very difficult.

In Kovalam beach area, this is the best deal to get for the price. But one has to walk about 400-500 mtrs to reach the hotel. Their staff is helpful but overall limitations are there. They do not have any dine in facility so not very senior citizens or kids...
