KTDC MOTEL ARAAM VAIKOM — Hotel in Kerala

One of the few places you can enjoy a beer in Vaikom - and the only place you can become inebriated and enjoy a view. I would have rated higher but we've had a couple of odd experiences here that's soured our impression of the place. We were charged 350 rupees for a very small fried karameen fish - which was delicious - but far more expensive than the local competition. We also asked for bottled water three times - the first two times there was no problem and the third time we were told 'no' without any...

I had a fun time with my buddies at KTDC MOTEL ARAM in vaikom. We chilled out with some beers and munched on beef dry fry and egg roast. The place was pretty empty, maybe because it's not well maintained. The beer was awesome, but the food was meh. The location is amazing, but the mosquitos were annoying. This is a non veg hotel managed by KTDC. Not just a walk in place. Hot drinks are also offered. Not a cheap place. The management does not expect any general public but touring foreigners. This hotel is constructed by CPWD in the shape of a big boat. Those coming from Thavanakkadavu, where Inland Water Transport is ferrying people from Vaikom to and fro, will have a beautiful view of this hotel like a big boat...
