Umami, Vaikom – My Honest Experience 🍽️

Umami in Vaikom is a restaurant with a pleasant ambiance and decent quality food. Most of the time, the taste is quite satisfying — especially their biryani and chicken items are worth mentioning. However, on certain occasions, the flavors felt a bit underwhelming.

A key area that needs improvement is service. Even when the restaurant isn’t busy, there’s often a noticeable delay in taking orders. While the staff are sometimes polite and attentive, the service overall lacks efficiency.

Overall Verdict: The food is slightly above average, but the service definitely needs better consistency and professionalism. With a little more attention, Umami has the potential to become one of the top dining...

Location and setting The place has very poor parking space.its alright for two wheelers but not enough for cars. The whole place is spacious with both ac and non AC seating spaces available.But the non AC space is very very hot and filled with smoke.its basically not a very suitable place to eat .

Food We ordered alfaham Mandi .It had enough portion for 4 .we also ordered shawarma.The wait time for shawarma was way too much .we waited for about 20-30 min for the shawarma .the end result was just disappointing. the shawarma...

Very very bad customer service... I asked for biriyani to the person who was in the counter but he didn't replied anything...he was busy in talking to his friends... Then no reply... I asked again after some time, then he didn't replied. AFTER 5 minute I again ask for biriyani.. Then he replied No biriyani... I Lost about 20 minutes there . It was my first time visit I never go there again. I heard about the restaurant through food attack instagram channel... Any way I won't recommend this...
