Mantra Heritage Home — Hotel in Kerala

For the price the room was fine, although no hot water and the ceiling was flaking onto the bed. However giving a lower rating due to the terrible customer service. We were catching a bus to munnar the next day so on the last evening we organised with the owner for breakfast (which I prepaid for) and a tuktuk to take us to the bus station. The owner slept in and after waiting half an hour and the tuktuk driving off I had to go to their bedroom to wake him up as I wanted my money back for the breakfast. An apology goes a long way but he gave none, just started making the breakfast that we had no time to eat. He knew we had a bus to catch and still took a long time to give us our money back. We ended up having to go on our 6 hour bus journey without having eaten any breakfast and he made us so late there were no seats left and we had to stand. I got a great deal for this place using booking.com because of off-season. The home-stay is a traditional house converted into a guest house with 4 rooms. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are clean. The verandah is a nice place to read a book or spend the afternoon with a cup of coffee. ||The location is very close to beach, but unfortunately there is a construction work happening in the beach and monsoon is making it worse. I stayed at Mantra Heritage Home for 2 nights. The location of the homestay is perfect as Alleppey Beach is only 5 minutes away from there. I had a very clean and comfortable room. The best part was the services I got there. Anoop, the homeowner, took care of everything during my stay. He was so considerate to pick and drop me everywhere. He made arrangements for my backwater boating experience and helped me in planning the itinerary as well. He made sure that I had a happy stay. I got complete worth for my money.
