Prasanthi Cliff Beach Resort — Hotel in Kerala

Guys, just go for it.. After a long research on varkala hotels, finalized this one for our anniversary vacation. Just amazing stay. Place has ground and first floor. View from first floor is breathtaking. You can just sit in the balcony and enjoy clear sea view for hours. Coming to other aspects, room was decent, with double bed, AC, small almira, two bed tables, one dressing table, 2 chairs and 1 table in the balcony. Bathroom was small but clean and there was cold/hot water available for 24 hrs. Bedsheets were clean and duck was made out of towels on arrival. Furniture is bit old, but was clean so no issues in that. They do not give thick quilt as it's very hot in varkala most of the time and is not needed. Cleaning is done once in every two days of your stay but when we asked, the cleaning lady was sweet enough to broom our room even if it was not cleaning day. There is no room service but they will provide you soap on arrival and during stay. 1 Water bottle is complementary post that you need to pay. Refrigerator is available where you can keep any of your stuff. (We stored our anniversary cake) . All amazing and happening places walkable distance and access to varkala beach also few meters to the left after exiting the hotel. There is one person Clarke who takes care of all these things, very decent and polite, made our stay very comfortable. So overall, highly recommend this place. Will come again and stay here. We booked rooms for 7 familes including kids. It's total waste. They ask us to pay full amount during check in time. We did check in at 6 pm and after 1 hr we faced power cut. There is no power backup , so no lights and fan. You have to survive only your mobile lights. If it's raining then you can't access room balcony, since rain water comes inside room. Even some rooms balcony door closed rain water comes inside. We informed property owner about power issue. He told us to give some time to check. Meantime we went to have dinner and came back rooms at around 10 pm. Still we faced power cut. When we asked owner and employee, they told if you want to stay or vacate now itself. We told we will vacate next day morning since outside it was heavy raining and we had small kids. But they didn't agree. Finally we searched rooms near by resorts in midnight and moved other resorts. The owner didn't refund full amount, he kept rs 4000 just for keeping our luggage. Don't book this resorts just...

Our stay at this property was nothing short of a disaster. The room was in an appalling condition, with unclean bed sheets and used pillowcases that were clearly not replaced. Basic amenities were missing—there wasn’t even a kettle in the room. The mirror, which should have been spotless, was far from clean, adding to the overall disappointment.

To make matters worse, the point of contact (POC) displayed a complete lack of professionalism. Their behavior was rude and dismissive, showing no understanding of how to interact with guests or address their concerns.

The stark contrast between the pictures advertised and the actual experience is shocking. It felt like we were misled by the images, which painted a much more appealing picture of the property.

If you value cleanliness, basic amenities, and courteous service, I strongly advise against booking this place. It was a deeply unpleasant experience, and I wouldn’t want anyone else to fall into...
