I WISH I COULD POST THIS REVIEW ON THE LADAKH GOOGLE PAGE.
JIMMY BHAI IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST PERSON YOU CAN GET FOR YOUR TRAVEL NEEDS IN LADAKH REGION.
Leh was a 15 year long dream for me and my family. We had tried 2 times to come to Leh and Ladakh in general but due to the time not being right for me I couldn't come.I always say that,to come to Ladakh you need a special visa. Not everyone is allowed to visit the land of lamas. So I tried my best and my cousins suggested Jimmy bhai's name as a person in Ladakh. We called him and he prepared a 13 day iterenary for Ladakh and Kashmir. We stayed for the tenure in Ladakh in his Leh and Hunder properties. His whole family is involved in the homestay and they are truly gem like people. His Father,Mother,Wife and Little Buddha as I call his son makes us feel like we are in an extended family. They made us feel warm, shared life stories and cooked local delicacies. His auxillary staff Dasharath and Ashish are also equally good at making us feel confortable and well fed.The vegetable garden, views of the himalayan ranges from the room and varieties of apple trees are things we will always cherish. We saw the local monasteries, museums and army establishments as part of our local sightseeing and proceeded to view Nubra Valley,Pakistan border,Pangong Lake,Kargil and Kashmir valley during our long distance travels.
The driver allotted to us was Mr.Jigmet Stanzin also Jimmy who himself is both a warrior and a monk.He was with us during our 1600 km long trip and stood like a rock through thick and thin.He is the son of a war hero and we strongly suggest him as your driver if you go for Ladakh tour.
But let me also take this opportunity to say that coming to the Kashmir valley is not worth it as we felt it is super-commercialized and it is nothing in comparison to the great Tibetan plateau.
As my final conclusion,I would like to say that I came to Ladakh with my mind full of questions and I am leaving here speechless thanks to aid of both Jimmy bhais and their families.
10/10 and wish you well. I now have 2 brothers...
Read moreStayed here 16 nights on 4 different occasions in September-October 2021. The host Jimmy was very responsive to the early questions I had and the very good ratings encouraged me to book for 2 nights. The homestay was so good that we did not want to stay anywhere else. Our favorite room was 201, which was very spacious with an equally large bathroom. The window panes had two layers of glass which made the room quite warm. The furniture was very comfortable and sitting by the large window soaking in the morning sunshine was a favorite activity. The two boys who managed the kitchen were excellent cooks and it was a pleasure to have freshly picked cauliflower for the gobi parantha. The homestay has a vegetable patch which supplies most of the kitchen vegetables. On especially busy days the food would take some time, but the time was whiled away watching the apples on the trees and the snow clad mountains in the distance. The hosts, Jimmy and family were the last word in hospitality and warmth. Over the month we spent in Ladakh, returning to Jimmy's was better than returning home. We were privileged to be invited to the wedding anniversary dinner of Jimmy, in which all dishes were prepared by him. So delicious and kind of the host family. A well laid out flower garden and the orchard of half a dozen apple trees is really a treat for the eyes. In the coming years we would like to return to Jimmy's for longer periods; probably months on end. Jimmy was very helpful in arranging a couple of excellent Xylos for our trips to Nubra valley, Zanskar. Overall, an excellent place to stay in Leh. And the town is only a ten...
Read moreI just cannot think of anything negatives about this place. The cleanliness, the food, the spacious rooms, the views from the rooms, the set and setting, the garden, the hangout area - Everything is just perfect about this place.||||But what truly stands out is the hospitality of the hosts and owners. Mr and Mrs Stobgyal run this place with such warmth and love, words truly fall short. They stay on the ground floor of the property and the property itself is quite big and spacious to be called a home stay. It is a perfect blend of a travelers hostel, home stay and guest house. On the day we were checking out, we had an early morning flight back to Mumbai. We had got up at 5:30am and were planning to leave by around 7:00am. Since we had stayed there for nearly 7 days, we knew that the kitchen generally is operational by 7:30-8:00am, so we didn't expect to get tea/coffee/breakfast so early in the morning. We were planning to have our morning tea in the airport as it was just a 15 min drive from Jimmy's. At 6:45am, we heard a knock on the door. When I opened, it was Mrs. Stobgyal with a broad and warm smile on her face with a tray in her hand and 3 cups of steaming hot tea standing out there in that biting cold. She had made the tea at her place and had brought it up in that freezing cold so early in the morning.||||The cafe - Metta Cafe - is run by Tanvi who cooks really yummy continental breakfast. She has decked up the hangout area very aesthetically.||||The only thing which was lacking during our stay at Jimmy's was 'time'. I really really wish I...
