My boyfriend and I arrived here after a rather long and tortuous journey between manali and Leh and as travellers we aren’t particularly fussy about rooms just as long as they are clean which this definitely was not, among other things. ||Arriving at 1am which I had already informed the owner of our late arrival we tried ringing from the car that had brought us and he picked up and then hung up and didn’t answer again so we couldn’t find the place for quite a while meaning an even later arrival when we had been travelling for 20 hours +. When we finally found the place and woke someone up we were firstly offered a dindgy drab looking room that the sheets were dirty and stained and everything was dirty and looked as though it was falling apart - curtains, floor. The owners response was this is a hotel things get dirty. I asked to be shown a different room as this was not what had been advertised and nothing like the pictures and reviews on here had led me to believe it would look like. The second room was no better and possibly worse with beds which were just like lying on thin wood. The curtains had holes in and were stained, along with the bed sheets and blankets and there were numerous dead flies and other things all along the windowsill. The floor was disgusting and peeling up in the corners. We both slept fully clothed as we did not want to touch anything. The shared bathroom/toilet was falling apart too. ||We had booked about 4/5 nights but left the following morning as early as we could which I had informed the owner of the night before and said we would not be paying anything because it was disgusting and I had already paid quite a deposit which would cover the one night! The following day when we had checked into a lovely hostel I received a very threatening email from the owner that he was going to call the police even though the night before I had told him what we would be doing. ||My advice... do not stay here. How this has no other bad reviews on trip advisor...
Read moreKhan Manzil is a great place where to stay in Leh.||I visited the place in July.||I faced health issues when in Ladakh and the manager was of incredible help.||He was sincerely caring about me and made sure to make my life easier all the time (including transportation etc). ||During my time at the hospital, he even came to visit me at the hospital to make sure I was fine.||He always provided great pieces of advice during my stay at Khan Manzil and before that he was very helpful in arranging a trip (literally everything: guide, transportation etc.) at the best conditions possible.||Thus, I would like to address again a GREAT THANK YOU to the Khan Manzil team for everything they did for me.||Finally, the guest house offers a very pleasant rooftop terrace with a great view on the valley and the mountain.||Therefore, I can only recommend people visiting Leh to make sure they stop in Khan...
Read moreBeautiful little guest house situated in the perfect location, 2 mins walk away from the main Leh market. I stayed in a private room for 5 nights and couldn't recommend this place more. The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfy. Not too hard or not to soft, with good pillows. There is a rooftop terrace with seating and an amazing view of the surrounding mountains. The middle floor has a sheltered outside seating area over looking the garden below, where there are fruit trees and more tables and chairs. The owner and his wife are lovely people who made me feel very welcome, and are happy to help with anything you need during your stay. I was very happy with the price and will definitely return when I am next in Leh. Fully...
