This is my third review for KBR over the years. This time around though I was rather disappointed with the upkeep of the room and overall service. ||||To start with the staff gave away our food to another couple (assuming it was us). We had called and informed them that we would be late for lunch. The staff should have clarified or at least checked if they are serving it to the right people. ||||Secondly, the rooms. I almost exclusively stay in their log huts or wooden cottages because they are really cute and charming. We stayed in Room 12 this time and the cottage looks like its going to fall apart. Over the years no one has bothered to apply varnish to the wood or clean the hut in general. There are cobwebs all over the wooden structure, insects that get attracted to wood - if it is not maintained well, and sawdust that kept falling from the roof on to the bed through the night. It seems like the owners simply don't bother with upkeep and maintenance of the place. For INR 5,000 it is not up to the mark. I doubt I'll be coming back unless the place is refurbished. ||||On a positive note, the food remains amazing! Authentic Maharastrian coastal food. Kudos...
Read moreVery very poorly maintained huge property. Rooms had no TV, (website mentioned it has cable TV and table tennis & other activities). Table tennis was not there.
Just look at the pics i have taken and you will get that why we felt cheated. The activities were in broken condition like kids play area (see how it was as good as absent), pool table area, the sofa outside the room etc. ( See the broken lamp, broken patra on jhula sitout)
The spring of the sofa was popping out and may have badly hurt us if not noticed by me. (See pic)
Only positive was the quality of food, that too was served very late in afternoon (we did lunch at 3pm). There was only 1 hammock.
The door of our room was not closing without putting lot of force. The windows were broken. The property had mosquitoes all over which made the stay like hell.
Lot of insects were coming in the room in night which made sleeping and going to washroom a nightmare. Even basic things like water and chaddars were not given without asking and water was given on paid basis. Hot water in bathroom also was started when asked.
The road to resort was in very bad condition and only possible to access via car,...
Read moreLocated at a stone's throw from Kelva beach, the resort is must visit if you are looking for a peaceful getaway from your daily hustle bustle. |Rooms are affordable (try weekdays and off season for best deals) and are available as per the size of the cavalcade. However, insist on change of beddings upon entering your room. Ours we felt weren't changed for a long time. Also, the blankets had cigarette burns (previous guest's fault I believe). Our request for change was met with prompt action. So no complaints about the service. |Also, opt for an all-meal package because available options around aren't very palpable. The food is excellent and the in-house chef's is a wizard. |Conclusion, this place can become your permenantly stay everytime you visit Kelva for a break.||Tips: Travel with your own vehicle as there is a lot to see around and vehicles on hire aren't easily available (especially if you are moving around during...
