Flagship Guardian Residency — Hotel in Meghalaya

I stayed here for 3 nights. The room that i stayed was for two person, it had a queen size bed, 1 table and 2 chairs, a cupboard and a bathroom/toilet attached. In size it was small for two person to freely walk around at the same time but was not too small to feel claustrophobic. It was clean but not too neat, there were dust in some place like, on top of table, inside the cupboard but not that much that you can ignore it. The bathroom/toilet was clean enough, slight smell from the toilet if you keep the lid open, otherwise i had no problem with the bathroom. Water was there for 24/7. The price for the room was 1800/night, which I feel is a bit much. And last if you are on budget don't order food from the hotel, cause everything here is pricier. I ate a plate of maggi which cost me 80 rs, without any egg or meat. Better to eat at a restaurant. One great thing I like when staying in this hotel was that, not far from this hotel there is a restaurant which serve very good food...

Only if I could give a lower rating. I had bookedand paid for rooms almost a month before . I called the hotel manager to inform about my late night arrival at the hotel, but to my surprise (or shock) the hotel manager informs me that all the rooms are sold out for the past 1 week. I asked him how was it possible that a hotel which had availability a month back, allowed me to book rooms is suddenly fully sold out. He rudely asked me to talk to Oyo or Make My Trip, which obviously was of no help. They would either put me in a shabby hotel or just give me refund.

My situation, I was about to reach an unknown City past midnight with my wife. Such attitude towards tourists is very bad. I had to shell out twice the amount I paid this hotel to get rooms in a not so nice Oyo.

If it was communicated to be in advance, I could have made arrangements.

I highly recommend the hotel manager to shut down this facility if this is how they are...

We reached hotel at about 7:00PM on the day of booking but the hotel completely denied to give us rooms stating the rooms are under maintenance. No information of this was given to us in advance nor the booking was cancelled by hotel. On asking him for the reason the hotel completely denied responsibility and told us to contact Makemytrip as I had booked online. I with my very old parents had to stand on the road and tried to resolve the issue with MMT. I had to suffer through this ordeal for 2 hours and got no help either from hotel or MMT. This was my worst experience ever. Such callousness on part of hotel is very disappointing. I would advice anyone planning to visit the hotel to avoid making bookings and staying at this hotel at all costs. The staff and owner are completely careless and irresponsible. If there was an option for giving negative stars I sure would have given it...
