Good location Cordial and helpful staff Nice spacious room Excellent wifi Clean room Satelitte tv with good channel selection Cons. No views in particular No lift. So if you are in 2nd n 3rd floor it will be difficult for old people and carry heavy luggage in case you would have. The boys will help but still.is a manual effort for them. Even though staff were helpful in form of grace and andy but it requires more responsiveness when you need them n call on cell since the room phone never worked. Food options are very limited and needs to improve a lot. Staff needs to be available at all times should the guest need anything like early checkout,help with luggage etc. No toiletries except a small soap was provided. Now coming to the room. A small heater us provided which is not useful to heat the room at all. Since its a cold place the room needs to be insulated well for heat and also noise from outside. Some design aspects of the room are baffling like the door knob on the bathroom door.its way below and one has to bend down to open door. The flush jet is situated on the left side which is surprising as most of the people are right handed The main door doesnt lock completely and leaves a small gap when closed which isnt nice for noise,heat n security. Its a good place to stay for a night or two but if you are planning a long stay and dont get bothered by the cons then you could take a call accordingly. Overall shillong has to come up a lot in terms of tourism infrastructure, customer service,food options in order to compete with other locations. I personally wouldnt want to come back to shillong till its improved.

Update on 18th jan.

When i had left the hotel they called me stating i had pink sweatshirt left out in the room. I told them they could courier it to me and gave my address on 2nd jan. I checked back with the hotel on 17th and the lady() informed me that she is nt keeping well since that date and will send it once she goes back. Today morning the hotel messages my stating the tshirt has been lost and no onr knows who took it. Below is the conversation with me on whatsapp

"[02/01, 5:02 pm] Praveen: Once u ship it let me know the charges will gpay it [02/01, 5:02 pm] Rockski Shillong: I'll send it by tomorrow or day after [02/01, 5:02 pm] Rockski Shillong: Sure sir [02/01, 5:03 pm] Praveen: Cool [02/01, 5:03 pm] Rockski Shillong: No worries sir [17/01, 10:24 am] Praveen: Hi grace [17/01, 10:24 am] Praveen: Have u sent my tshirt yet? [17/01, 10:26 am] Rockski Shillong: No sir I'm not feeling well, I'm still on leave [17/01, 10:26 am] Rockski Shillong: It's been 2 weeks now [17/01, 10:26 am] Praveen: So who is going to send it [17/01, 10:27 am] Praveen: Cant u hv smone else send it"

And todays response to my wife by the hotel instead of telling me

"Hello Madam,i don't know what to say or how to start.I just resume my duty yesterday the time i reached there I thought of sending the parcel to you but the moment I open the cupboard I found it was missing it's not there we were searching for it but couldn't find it and no one knows or see who took it I am extremely sorry and i don't really know how it happen. I am so so sorry"

So i know if i had lost it there itself i wldnt have asked them. But since they called me stating they found and they will send me the tshirt, i had the expectstion to receive it and loosing it now seems to be very careless n unprofessional.

Calling Rockski a BnB is an understatement. It's easily one of the best places to stay in Shillong. I booked Rockski for a weekend initially but ended up staying more than a month between my trips all over Meghalaya.

The place is exceptionally designed and maintained. It looks even better than the pictures. The thing that makes Rockski special are the people. I became good friends with Kong Grace who is very kind and helpful, Andy who is full of energy, Nick who serves the best English breakfast in Shillong and Bah Nam the cool dude.

Most importantly, I will be forever indebted to Miss Wennie, the white knight of Rockski for making my stay at Rockski and my trip as a whole so fulfilling. She went out of her way to help me have a great time in Shillong. From bookings in Sohra, Shnongpedeng to travel between places to food suggestions to awesome conversations, she left no stone unturned to ensure I had the time of my life in Meghalaya. She's a great ambassador for the state and a wonderful friend and human.

I will keep coming back to Shillong and Rockski. Thank you Rockski....

First of all finding the hotel location is difficult as it is located in very narrow street, there won't be anyone to guide you and the property has parking for only 2 cars. We were very tired and reached the property around 9pm, there was no one to pick our luagge and no one in reception. We tried calling receptionist number for 20 mins but no response. Also there is no lift. The superior queen rooms look good in photos but don't get fooled, it isn't big, the bed is hard and washroom is not clean. Next day morning I tried calling the staff for ordering breakfast but again there wasn't any response, when I came down there was a small kitchen where they gave 2 options and asked us to wait around half an hour. As I was in a hurry I had to skip and have breakfast outside. I wouldn't recommend anyone wasting money on...
