We Traveled to Borivali to be Near Family/Friends as a Family Wedding was in a Few Days. Arrived to Find the Room we had Reserved was not Available but Same Type, Deluxe Room, was Available on Different Floor. All Said the Room was the Same.||||Spent the Day Traveling Around to Family/Friends and Doing the Last Minute Wedding Shopping. Late in the Evening Finally got a Tata Indicom Photon+ Internet Connection but Needed the Laptop, Fast Dash to the Hotel, and Back to the Vendor, 1 Hours Later Back to Hotel for the Night||||Then the Interesting Part.||0330 AM, Knock at the Door, Mumbai Police. Was Informed just a Routine Check. Present Passport and Answered the Question. 2 Hours Later Finally Back to Sleep.||My Brother In-Law Arrived to Meet us for Breakfast, and was Told the Tale. He was Immediately Upset. Seems the Only Time Police Make this Type of Early Morning “Raid” is to Foreigners with Prostitutes in the Room. As I am an American and the Wife is an Indian (Now American Since 2005) the Hotel Just Assumed was not Correct, Yes you Need to Say the Hotel. Upon Questioning of the Morning Manager, he was Embarrassed Though, Seems one of the Young Boys Working the Desk Called the Police for the “Raid”.||||So Basically if you are a Mixed Couple Traveling to Borivali, Avoid this Place, or call the Owner to First get “Permission” to Grace the Hotel with your Mixed...

Visited Mumbai for a wedding in the family last weekend. Stayed at Vala Janu hotel. ||Checked in on Sunday 24th April and checked out on Monday 25th April.||Had taken 2 deluxe rooms and 1 executive room. The deluxe rooms though priced a trifle steep were quite spacious and well furnished. Surprisingly the bathroom was very small and not very user friendly.||The executive room was reasonably sized and furnished. Bathroom could have been better. Bathroom fittings need to be upgraded. The fridge in the room was not working and did not elicit any response from the management in spite of repeated reminders.||Bed linen / towels were clean and AC quite efficient. ||Reception staff could be more polite and friendly. The service staff were quite polite and efficient.||Food /Bar facilities were good and room service prompt . ||For the tariff charged complimentary breakfast should have been provided. ||Situated in a quiet locality. Morning walk was a pleasure in the LIC Colony / area with excellent green cover and good roads.||A place worth...

A small but clean & comfortable room (double bed) provides the minimum requisites for the stay.||||The better part of the stay is however the exotic restaurant attached to the main compound that provides a variety of cuisines with Indian Cuisine topping the list.
