Since we were craving seafood for dinner, I decided to visit Konkan Kinara with my family. The restaurant had a minimalistic setup. When we arrived around 10:45 PM on a Friday night, the place was almost empty, with just one other table occupied. Since this is a Konkani restaurant, going by the name, I assumed they specialized only in Konkani cuisine. But to my surprise, they also served North Indian and Chinese dishes.
To start our meal, we ordered Manchow Soup. Then, we tried Bombil Fry, which was disappointing. Since this is a Konkani restaurant, I expected the fish to be well-marinated, but it tasted bland. So, I had to ask them to take it away. They were kind enough to serve it again, and this time, the flavors were much better.
Next, we tried Veg Seekh Kebab, which had a nice earthy flavor. The Orange Mojito was fresh and had a unique orange flavor. Then, we ordered Masala Papad, Chicken Thali, Mutton Thali, and Veg Thali. The masala papad was crispy and flavorful. The thalis were wholesome, and I feel one thali is more than enough for one person. With every thali, you have the option to choose between Bhakri, Chapati, or Wade, which adds a nice customization to the meal.
I especially liked the Chicken Thali, which came with bhakri. The bhakri was so soft, and I could tell from the taste that it was freshly made. The Veg Thali was also sufficient and included a sweet dish. To end the meal, we ordered Caramel Custard, which was delicious and properly made.
The staff was polite, but at times, they seemed more focused on watching a cricket match rather than attending to guests. We had to call them multiple times for basic service, like refilling water or checking on our order. A little more attentiveness would have made the experience much better.
The restaurant seemed hygienic to me, and overall, it was a decent experience at Konkan Kinara. If you are in the mood for a meat thali or seafood, you may consider visiting this place.

Read moreThis place is just fabulous! The atmosphere is chill and elegant but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. I visited this place with my friend on his birthday and I can say, this cozy restaurant has left the best impressions!
What we ordered in starters:
Paneer chili and Veg crispy — The paneer chili was prepared with perfection😍. Paneer was extremely soft and it tasted great. The veg crispy had a crunchy outer layer and the vegetables were warmed up to mark, it had a zesty taste.
For the main course we had:
Jeera rice and Dal tadka — This combination is a gem and never disappoints you. The rice had an enormous quantity. The dish which amazed me the most was dal tadka because it had the least amount of oil in it as compared to other restaurants!
And finally, in mocktails, we tried — Virgin mojito and blue lagoon — Both of them were delightful and brightened up our mood just after a sip. And neither of them were too chilled or had the essence added to it which is a good thing ✔.
Overall, we had a great pleasure visiting this place on a special day. Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide mocktail list, and wonderful desserts... Hygiene was also very well maintained and it's a pocket-friendly place. Highly recommend everyone to try...
