The check in process at this hotel is ALWAYS a nightmare. Have complained about this many times. This time too, I was asked to go to the Check Out counter, only to stand in front of a staff member who was busy the phone! Two other staff members were in engaged conversations with each other and not bothered that I was standing and waiting. One counter went empty, and the staff member vanished instead of helping me, even though I was standing there. It is literally run like a 90's government office. Sometimes, when you are waiting, the staff may ask you to wait at the coffee shop. From experience, I would suggest never do that, they will forget about you and take forever to check you in. The check in process is the most important part of your hotel stay, it is a glimpse into the overall service standards and staff training. And trust me, the hotel service is only downhill from here. At the entrance of the lobby, there are stairs. So you have to carry your luggage and climb the stairs for 1 full floor. It is very rare that a staff member sees you on time, and very conveniently offers to help once you have almost completed climbing up or down the stairs. I have always faced this issue without exception. On a previous occasion there were several staff members just standing there watching me while I tried to carry my luggage down the stairs. Once you have checked into this hotel, please absolutely insist on taking your bags up to your room yourself (through the elevator). The front desk will assure you the bags will be sent promptly to your room, but trust me, they take forever. So at this hotel I insist on taking bags myself. Food is definitely not upto the mark, almost every dish has something off. Not even close to worth the prices that they charge. There are plenty of options for restaurants or hotels near by. The restaurant staff though, are excellent, courteous and very on-point. Maybe the front desk staff, lobby and even the upper management needs to learn from them? With many choices in the area, like ITC, Leela, Shangri-la, etc.. stay at this hotel only if you are not in control of...
