Truly unforgettable Anniversary date at Spicy Duck, Taj Palace Hotel New Delhi, offering authentic Chinese with a modern twist.
Treated ourselves to luscious Cantonese & Sichuan flavours served with the magic of Tajness. An extraordinary amalgamation of Contemporary vibrance, Minimalistic Elegant interiors, Cozy ambience, Authentic Balanced flavours & Warm affectionate hospitality.
The name Spicy Duck gains it's inspiration from the Duck that signifies freedom, happiness and fidelity in China. The food is all about home-infused oils, aromatic spices and a deviation from an overuse of condiments.
We kick started our meal with an assortment of dimsums. Veg- Edamame dimsums, Shanghai dumpling Non Veg- Pan fried chicken Guo-Tie, Chicken Pakchoi Absolutely divine and come in the thinnest of coverings which are bound to leave you astounded. All with perfectly cooked meat and veggies in elaborate and delicious sauces with a hint of spice giving it that kick.
Don’t forget to sample the duck delicacies when you land up here. We tried the Peking Duck roll and Mock Duck roll (Since my husband is a vegetarian) and they were insanely good. Relished the Crispy Honey lotus stem, mushroom spring roll & Chicken Tai Chin too.
The staff was super helpful in helping us pick the right dishes according to our palate.
What’s even better than delectable food? Some pours to match our meal! We tried 4 cocktails Consensual (Vodka based), Smoked Sandalwood Old fashioned (Whiskey based), Berries & Rose aperol spritz (Vodka based) and Aegeon Fantasy (Gin based) And yes! Their Signatures surely hit all the right notes.
Their food is a delicious combination of taste and essence. For mains their Shanghai shredded chicken, Vegetable in hot garlic sauce, Ma po Tofu in chilli bean paste with Pan fried chicken noodles and Veg fried rice were definitely a treat for our tastebuds!
The perfect conclusion to our delicious meal were the desserts. Must try the Crispy date pancakes with icecream and Sweet chilli chocolate mousse in brittle basket. The creations will blow you away.
