Jerry 's chateau — Hotel in Puducherry

Stayed here recently during our Pondicherry trip. The place looked decent, rooms were okay, and the location is great, right in White Town and walkable to most attractions. But honestly, the hospitality and staff behavior ruined the entire experience for us.

We booked two rooms via Agoda, one for 3 people and one for 2 and paid extra for an additional bed. We reached around 1 PM and only one room was ready. We didn’t make a fuss. We also asked if we could get rooms next to each other and they agreed, but gave us a downgraded room. Still, we were fine with it and took it.

At check in, we clearly told them we need the extra bed. They said they’ll place it at night. We returned to the hotel around 10:45 PM and called the manager asking for the bed. He said it would come in 5 minutes. An hour passed, nothing. Called again, and this time he was rude, denied we ever spoke, and claimed there was no extra bed in our booking. I sent him the screenshot showing the extra Rs. 700 paid for it. Then he said it’ll come in 10 minutes. Another hour went by.

We went down to the reception to follow up. The person there was also rude and said he didn’t get any order. We had to call the manager again and ask him to come in person. Even then, no apology or basic manners. He started shouting, that the receptionist cannot give us extra bed without his permission and that he owns the place and then he handed over the mattress only after making a big deal out of it and make a note, all of this is happening at 1.30 AM at night and we had to carry it down ourselves to the room. Honestly, never seen anything like this.

Rooms were decently clean but not spotless. Towels had brown stains. Pillows had hair all over them, clearly not washed properly. Bathrooms were clean though. No plates or spoons provided. The place is in a very narrow street and on weekends the parking is chaotic. I had to park my car outside the gate at my own risk.

This place could’ve been a good stay but poor attitude and lack of basic customer service made it a bad one. If you expect respectful behavior and proper hospitality, I’d say...

My friend and I recently visited Pondicherry and stayed at Jerry's Chateau. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located within walking distance of the beach. The staff and people there were incredibly kind, making us feel safe and comfortable throughout our stay.

The pricing was affordable, and the restaurant served delicious food with excellent service. The staff's hospitality truly enhanced our experience, making our trip to Pondicherry even more memorable.

We enjoyed our stay here at the Jerry’s. Rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. Private balcony was available which gives a lot of sunlight in the room. There is a restaurant on the 1st floor which has all type of cuisine at reasonable price. Most of the locations like French Colony, Hope farm cafe, Rock beach and Mangrove forest boating are nearby within 2 kms so its walkable. Great experience. Thank you...
