Perumal Inn — Hotel in Puducherry

I had to get a hotel booked in the last minute and since it was a long weekend, almost all of them were booked and I ended up booking this hotel. Being a traveler from Chennai, I went in my car. Lets touch the positives first||||1. This hotel is right in the city center opposite to Pothys making accessibility to most places easier.||2. Hot Chips restaurant is right below the hotel. We found this very useful having taken our little one with us.||3. Despite being a last minuter, the price we paid wasn't all that high and we got our money's worth||4. The rooms were reasonable good if not excellent. You get what you pay for.||good will tip: You should try the lassi place right below the hotel. It is definitely worth a try. Let me know what you thought.||||Now coming to the not so great stuff||1. The hotel does not have a parking space. However we took the very next left and fiund a space near a government school and parked our car there for the rest of the trip. ||2. The AC wasn't the easiest to operate||||Overall if you as me if I would recommend this hotel, I would say yes. I have booked this hotel for 2 days in the month of august 2016. I got 204 on 3rd floor. when we got inside it was horrible rooms were pathetic and not adjustable. floor was not well cleaned, things were broken inside ( Hanger curtain hooks rods almirah door was coming out when I opened it. insects were roaming on the bed. drawers doesn't have doors. room was stinking like hell. cupboard was so dirty and insects and the room was full of misquotes. Dustbin was without lid. Bathroom was not cleaned things was not fitted properly. television channels was not coming properly it was blur. Blankets was so dirty and unmatched from other rooms washbasin was broken Air conditioner was not working later they shifted me to some other room which was not acceptable at all this bathroom was full of mosquitoes there was no running hot water. While check out they send one person to see the room before leaving weather we things was proper or not inside. Food was so horrible. There were two idiot manger don't know how to talk with customers. They behave very rudely.I will not recommend this...

Courteous and cooperative staff, always ready to serve with a smile, although lacks initiative, hence you have to ask for the service.||||Location of the hotel is good if you have a car. Good food, shops nearby. The beach / Aurobindo Ashram and heritage area are around 10 minutes' drive away. ||||Rooms are spacious and clean. bathroom is big, clean and has hot water line. ||||Hotel lacks a designated parking area. You have to park your car just outside the gate in the narrow lane busy with moving vehicles. You're in trouble if there are more than a couple of tourist parties with cars!
