Banana Leaf Barbecue Restaurant — Restaurant in Puducherry

Based on the reviews given by some of my friends I visited this restaurant with a great expectation with my family for my anniversary. But I experienced the worst ever service from the restaurant. Starting from table cleanliness till bill payment it was a bitter experience. I am sharing this review based on what I really felt: i) Initial order was two plates of biryani and half a plate of Alfam Barbecue. But biryani was the last item that got delivered and the starter never came to table and ended up in cancelling after 45 min before bill payment. ii) Soup was delivered in 15 min of time which can be considered okay. But salt and pepper came to table only after 15 mins even though we requested for them as soon as they delivered the soup. iii) A strange thing that I noticed was almost 4 people attended the table and we were supposed to request the same items almost 2 times to everyone. But still it was taking them 15 plus minutes to bring it to our table. iv) Even water and tissue papers were not kept. Upon request a half filled jug was placed on our table which had water only for 3 members but we were 4 unfortunately. v) For 2 plates of biriyani only cup of onion raitha and gravy was given. As we requested for another cup of raitha it took them 20 min to deliver. In fact we requested to almost 2 service persons who attended the table. vi) In the end, we waited for 15 plus minutes for the bill. Finally the bill arrived. Shockingly we were charged with a wrong bill. Upon clarification the order taker complained the cashier. Attached is the copy of the bill.

Altogether the team has to learn a lot in the restaurant operations side. Especially they should prefer to recruit qualified personnel who can take up the responsibility and work towards customer...

Damnn!! The place was full. May be cause it was a Sunday or cause of a huge family showing up unannounced, but, really the place was completely full and people were waiting in the path way and near the tables for them to get vacant. They literally stood around us and were continuously talking loudly disturbing our conversations. Towards the end, they came and sat at my table with me still sitting there 🤦🤷 Very bad management of people flow. They could have atleast made people wait at the entrance before finding a vacant table. Ordered a Chicken Fried Rice, Pepper Chicken and a Tandoori Chicken Biryani. Pepper chicken with mayonnaise was heavenly. Biryani and Fried rice were a bit bland and ok. Also, there was no cutlery until asked for. Strange! Staff was over occupied cause of the crowd so, wouldn't call them out for late service. Overall: Wouldn't visit this place given the choice and reduced the stars due to bad management of...

We visited Banana Leaf barbecue restaurant in April 2023 for dinner. The place was almost full but we managed to get a seat. We checked the menu and asked for a biriyani to be informed it's not available. Soups also weren't available and the list continued. We just ordered Shawarma and some juices. In a few minutes we noticed biriyani being served to another table. Might be the case that it was the last one but still was disappointing. The shawarmas were served quickly and were good, but the watermelon juice took forever. We had finished our meal and waited for around 10 more minutes for the juice. The bill took even more time.
