Totally forgot to update this trip in Google, due to this lockdown etc.

Did this one day trip two weeks back, because my father insisted to do the trip. All the hotels we tried were full, these guys gave us the room and also a decent deal. They were even thoughtful to give us a room near the lift, since my father was a aged person.

We drove to Pondicherry, drive was really beautiful, steady, no pushing no honking, no wild chasing etc. Stopped for a cup of coffee at 99kms before Tindivanam. Started again and drove steady, took the left turn below the bridge to leave the Chennai - Trichy highway and enter the highway (32) to Pondicherry.

Drive was good. On entering Pondicherry, found lot of crowd, was kind of surprised, but later on learnt it was masi magam, an auspicious day, hence there were huge crowds on the road, people take the annadanam, and buttermilk that were being served.

Entered the hotel, they have valet parking, which was good. Check in was good (except for the minor point of when the payment was to be made).

Room were very good, spacious, neat, clean sheets and well lit too. Room had a mini bar facility, which was kind of decently stocked as well. Toilets were clean and neat.

Since there were lot of traffic and crowd on the road, we didn't want to drive outside, hence we had food in the hotel itself, and it was very decent. Taste wise it was more sweet and bland, rather than the typical spicy south Indian food.

Next day morning we had our breakfast, checked out of the hotel and drove back to Chennai.

LONG REVIEW ALERT!! Honestly, I wanted to give them a full 5 stars because of their nice restaurant staff! We went to Pondy in March 2022 when the whole town was shutdown due to some strike. Couldn’t find any place open for lunch and thankfully found Tulip restaurant open. We went there as a family of 8 with 3 kids right after their closing time for lunch. But their restaurant staff was super nice & accommodated us. Ajith Kumar, Nagomi & Rajesh were the best waiters we ever had and they served us so politely even though we went after they were closed! We are still so thankful for their kindness that day for feeding our hungry family with kids. Food was delicious too and kudos to their chef! ❤️

Now, during our visit to Pondy in July 2022 again, we remembered their restaurant staff’s nice gesture and booked their hotel room for our 2 nights stay. Their majesty mezzo room was comfy although it didn’t have 2 king sized beds like it said on their website. It had 1 king & 1 queen bed which was very uncomfortable. Their rooftop pool was super cool with the beach view but would have been better with some floaters for kids. At the time of checkout, they charged us a whopping ₹1000 for a small ink stain on one of their bedsheets (which can be removed) claiming for damages! This was insane and completely unacceptable. We found it very silly when they explained us it was hard to remove the stain and justified their charge for that! Good rip off! 👍

We booked this Hotel for a family outing in Feb '19. Location wise it is Ok, 1.5km from the nearby beach areas. The quality and size of the room is average. However, We had a very bad experience as the A/C in the room was not working. We repeatedly called the front desk but they did not provide any resolution. It used to be hot during nights and we had a terrible experience. Every time when we complained to the front desk, they would send a technician who would just do some adjustments just for a heck of it and the situation would not improve.

Coming to the food, The complimentary breakfast was OK. We decided to for Ala Carte dinner as were tired, in the restaurant called Tulip on the ground floor. The food was average. We had ordered Chicken Biryani. However, When they were serving Biryani, We noticed that they were actually serving Mutton Serving. we brought this to the notice of the waiter. He was initially arguing but later he agreed that it was his mistake. He offered us to serve Chicken Biryani. However, to our surprise, He again came and served us Mutton Biryani. It was a really bad experience and we left the restaurant immediately without finishing our food. We even complained to the manager but manager did not have any courtesy to accept the mistake.

To summarise, I would suggest you to avoid this hotel. You can get far better hotels in the same...
