Taka Pizza | Heavenly Woodfired Pizzas — Restaurant in Puducherry

The review is dated 23.5.2018. I dined between 7.30 pm and 8.45 pm.

The price is reasonable and inclusive of gst. Crust is thin. Taste is ok.

But the service is the worst of its kind.

Water did not came in the wash basin taps. They kept a jug of water for hand wash. It resembled a primitive style and not a quality of a modern pizza shop.

Though it was evening, it's still a hot summer day. Few air conditioners were running but couldn't feel the cool air.

We went as six including 4 children. Its displayed as self service but they agreed to serve on the table on request. A fat girl served the pizzas and without asking what else we want she left. No water was served. When I asked for water, she served only one glass of water. Yes. Believe me!!!. For six persons she served only one glass of water. After some time only when I insisted water for all, it came for all. No body cared for refilling the water. Since the pizzas are spicy children kept on asking for water. I again went to the counter and suggested to keep a water jug on my table. To that, the fat girl replied that they have only one water jug in the shop and cannot keep a water jug on the table. OMG. I cannot believe that. Only one water jug for all the tables in the entire shop.!!! Then one person came and filled only one glass of water and went again for refilling the water jug. Finally I ended up arguing for the sake of water with the fat girl. Now she replied it's a self service shop and they are not bound to serve water in the table!!! However they served the water since I requested ???

This is very very worst way of running the shop and treating the customers. The shop owners must send it's workers to a training class regarding how to behave with customers and treat them. The fat girl knows no courteousness. Politeness is totally absent.

Very very worst kind of experience at Taka Pizza,...

I'm so happy with a pizza that actually satisfied my appitite. I could have stopped after the second slice. I order the grand size. It's 14 inches and lots of toppings decent crust not thick and not cracker thin. My delivery was free the young man was professional and ahead of the time I was given. He found my place without getting lost. I highly recommend Taka Pizza. Thanks for giving me a wonderful experience during these tough times of covid. this is the chicken tikka without onions.

This week I ordered Just Like That without the mint. I'm curious though where's the basil? This crust was thinner than the tikka chicken. Also delicious.

Someone mentioned leftover pizza not so good. How to reheat your pizza without an oven or microwave : (see photos) Take a pan place on high heat with pizza slices on the pan and cover with a tin plate that has one inch sides. Once the slices start to warm up on the bottom turn the heat all the way down. Heat until the top becomes warm than turn off the heat, leave the plate on for another 2 minutes and the cheese will melt. Today I tried Popeye's pizza without capsicums. Very thin crust generous amount of toppings. Extremely good. Just ordered on of their new item pizza called Indian Tadka this one should have come with a fire extinguisher whew that was spicy hot. This evening I ordered the Mexicana pizza, it was so delicious. The extra cheese wasn't over done which is great. I should warn you all 3 of the chicken pizzas I have tried did have small pieces of bones so be very careful when eating and check it thoroughly before...

This place is located in Central Pondicherry and the pizzas were exceptional. The ambience is pleasant,all the staffs were extremely polite and helpful. The wall decor is amazing giving it an underground look.

The tables could be bigger as it was quite small to accommodate medium pizzas served by them which was extremely tasty and overloaded with veggies( they claim it’s wood fired pizza and it felt like one). The crust is thin and the pizzas were soft to chew.

Parking is an issue if you are visiting in a car which is a common thing in Pondicherry. Not wheel chair accessible as you have to climb four-five steps to reach the restaurant.

We got the “Infinity and Beyond” Pizza , Trio of fries and Veg penne pasta with white sauce. The pizza was extremely huge and we couldn’t finish it but it was very tasty and is a must try. You can replace your toppings and they’ll do it free of cost. Any additional toppings might be chargeable

Trio of fries - peri peri, normal and tangy was tasty but please don’t order it for 2 or less people since the quantity is huge. You can get it packed if you ask the restaurant.

The pasta was amazing as well.

Definitely a must try pizza spot in Pondicherry if you wish to...
