A hotel located in Heart of the Udaipur City.
Pros :- All the places that one would like to explore like City Palace, Vintage Car Museum, Karni Mata Ropeway, Pichola Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake, Fish Aquarium, Maharaja Maharana Pratap Museum, everything is located within 2 kms from this Hotel.
Sadly in my overall Trip this was the only positive i found in this Hotel. Lets talk about the Cons now,
I booked the Hotel seeing it is located on Lake Pichola. Technically it is, but from the Window view you can just see a slight corner of Pichola Lake that too it is quite dirty and filled with Garbage. Another view from the Hotel is of a Residential colony. View Wise i would rate it 1/5
No amenities are there at the Hotel to keep you engaged with anything at all. In fact the Restaurant too is outsourced to some other Party. The Restaurant is literally pathetic in terms of Service and Hospitality. In the breakfast the guy is not even ready to pour you Tea in the Kulhad leave aside serving something on your Table. When the food (like Bhatura/Parantha) finishes then he call the Kitchen (downstairs) to send something up which takes 10-13mins easily (preparation+bringing up). When you call the Kitchen there is a lady who picks up the Phone (Tanu) who is impolite, rusty with her choice of words and has zero sense of customer experience. I called and asked her for Whiskey glasses, for first 15-20 mins i made calls 3-4 times with a response that we are sending, finally the 5th time the Lady said all our tables are full we cant give you glasses, when i asked that should we be drinking in Coffee mugs then ? She said call the Reception and ask them and hung the phone to my face. I straight away contacted the Hotel Manager (Mahendra) he is a decent guy, he took this up with The Restaurant manager and then he came and apologized for the behaviour by that Lady. All in all in terms of Service at a Hotel where there are no Amenities what you look for is Restaurant service/food which i would rate negative. Service - 5/5 Food - 1/5
This is just FYI, they gave me a Scooty on rent for 450/- per day which in the market is easily available at 250/- per day. Also i had taken the Scooty at 5PM and returned the next day at 5PM and the Reception guy asked me to pay 900/- saying that the charge is day wise and not 24hrs from when you have rented the scooty which was a bizarre logic as per me. This also raised with the Hotel Manager and he said yes this is wrong and he took it up with the travel desk and I finally paid for 1 day (₹450/-) Again if you see the Front facing service, rate it by yourself.
Overall my experience here was 1/5 1 also because of the Proximity of this place to other destinations.
A complete NO for family...

Read moreStaying anonymous for this one as we had a terrible experience at Bloom Hotel. If you want a place that's dirt cheap that's what you'll get - a place that's dirty and cheap. We were a group of 8, some of us from abroad. We checked in and after a few hours, a few of us were crying because of how bad the hotel is. The rooms, sheets, bathroom are so old and disgusting. The AC in our room was broken and making a loud sound. They have just loaded the place with some antique looking furniture. The lake view from the so called suite room had piles of garbage everywhere. We went to the terrace to eat something. We saw a huge RAT - yes a rat running across the kitchen roof. That was the last straw. We went down to reception to ask for a refund as everyone in our group was depressed after being in that hotel for a few hours. That's when things got worse. If they would have just given us a refund we would have left satisfied. However, the staff of the hotel tried every trick in the book to prevent us from getting a refund. They claimed that we had booked through an agent and they hadn't received our money - when I pointed out that they had checked us in to the hotel a few hours ago without mentioning this, they started blushing and fumbling. They kept delaying and making us talk to various 'managers'. They finally claimed that we would get a refund in 3-4 days. When we said we were going to be in Udaipur for the next 4 days, they quickly changed the refund period to 5-7 days. By this time we kind of knew we weren't going to get a refund - it was a lot of money - the manager said that 'Rs. 70000 is not a lot for us'. Anyway, some.of our group left the hotel that very night because they couldn't possibly stay there. The rest of us left early the next morning. In the morning we tried to talk to the manager one last time but he couldn't talk to us because he was praying near the reception. Obviously, we never got a refund from them.
If you want to stay in a budget hotel in Udaipur, there are much much better hotels. Don't go for a lake view, get a place in the old city that's clean and the owners nice people. We stayed with a family guest house after this and it was so lovely - clean and charming. If you want a lake view just go to a restaurant for a meal. Cleanliness and a homely, nice atmosphere is much more important. Honestly, beging Indian I'm embarrassed at places like Bloom Hotel that try to scam foreigners. As soon as I entered the hotel, one of the managers tried to sell me some 'old paintings'. Indians are hospitable people, if you want to experience this don't stay...
