Avoid This Hotel at All Costs – A Nightmare Stay
My recent three-day stay at "Townhouse Fateh Sagar formerly Vatika Inn" was nothing short of a disaster. If you value your comfort, hygiene, and sanity, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This hotel is a prime example of negligence and utter disregard for basic hospitality.
Day 1: Uninhabitable Room
I was initially assigned a room that was utterly unfit for occupancy:
Mould Infestation: The room reeked of dampness and had mould covering the walls. Freezing Cold: The windows were not sealed, letting cold air gush in. Despite requesting a heater, none was provided. Lack of Basic Amenities: Although there were two of us staying, we were only given a single blanket, and repeated requests for another blanket were ignored. Day 2: Worse Than Before
After raising my concerns, I was moved to another room. Shockingly, this room was even worse:
Severe Hygiene Issues: The walls and ceiling were covered in seepage and mould. The bathroom tiles had visible fungus, and the exhaust fan emitted a foul stench due to seepage. Rodents in the Room: I could hear rats biting inside the AC cabinet, a horrifying experience for anyone. Non-Functional Facilities: The toilet leaked continuously, and the washbasin had no water supply. The bathroom latch was broken, leaving no privacy. Torn curtains barely covered the windows, raising additional privacy concerns. Unhelpful Staff: The hotel staff was dismissive and completely uncooperative when I reported these issues. Their lack of accountability added insult to injury. Why You Should Stay Away
This hotel is an outright health hazard and a complete waste of money. The conditions are unsanitary, the facilities are non-functional, and the staff is unprofessional and apathetic. Every aspect of my stay was miserable, from the rodent noise to the unbearable stench and freezing cold rooms.
Final Warning
Don’t make the mistake I did—stay as far away from this hotel as possible. The management clearly does not care about guest satisfaction or maintaining even the minimum standards of hygiene and functionality.

Read moreGood food and clean rooms . Rajasthan is known for its rich heritage, culture and hospitality towards the guests and Mr. Virendra, Mr. Jay , Mr. Nitesh and one more person at reception who was there at late night (sorry I didn't ask his name) are a perfect example of hospitality towards their clients.
I would like to mention this incident during my stay at this hotel: We had checked out of the hotel on 31st December 2021 morning and kept our luggage with the hotel itself and requested them to let us wait in the reception after our tour from 8 PM till midnight as we had to board the bus at 12:10 AM. They graciously agreed without even thinking about it. As planned, we waited in the reception from 8 PM till about 9:30 PM and then suddenly they came towards me and asked me if we would like to take rest in one of the rooms which got vacated in front of us . They didn't charge us for those 2 hours for using the room with all facilities and even apologized that they couldn't provide us the room earlier while we were waiting at the reception until 9:30 PM as there was no vacant room. They also told us that they will drop us to the bus station at mignight if we didn't have any arrangements . We are very much obliged with this gesture which is very rare now-a-days and especially in Udaipur which I think is very much commercialized as compared to other cities in Rajasthan.
So thanks to all your staff for the comfortable stay.I wish there were more than 5 stars for...

If there is hell in hotels, this is it If there is a gutter in hotels, this is it If given a choice, sleep in trains, in bus, but not here Dirtiest, filthiest, worst managed and worst hotel in Udaipur
Getting into the details: The linen was super dirty The duvet covers were covered with stains (mostly the body fluids) The washroom was stinking like drain, with dirtiness everywhere The pillow cover was half covering the pillow The paints of the wall was full of cracks The reception light was not on, shady ultimate Every room the receptionist suggested to us as alternative was even for filthy
The above was the basic lack of hygiene, sorry let me rephrase this, the above was hell on earth
If you expect any more services: The Wi-Fi is not available The intercom doesn’t work The TV is broken The only thing that works is AC (people can die inside without it as we switched on the AC to make all the smell leave the room We booked through OYO, this room is listed on OYO which in itself is a superficial company
Still if someone wants to live here, this can easily become one of the tasks of the wild, only difference being the wild is much cleaner, has more fresh air and is much cleaner than this stricture
Book a room here and give it yo your worst enemies as gift, believe me you would love the experience they are having with such HELL, ...
