HOTEL AURORA GANGTOK — Hotel in Sikkim

Me and my friend were on an all india trip, and when we reached Sikkim we were looking for affordable stay and found Hotel Aurora. In the google reviews, only drawback we found was the hotel is 2 km away from MG market. But hotels near the market are very expensive. So we thought we could give it a try. We didn’t expect much but when we reached the hotel, it was far above our expectations. The hotel is on the main road. Hotel manager Mr. Khawas was the best host we ever met in our all india trip. He was very helpful, generous and also helped us to find cabs and sikkim tour packages. Hotel was clean, spacious and well maintained. While checking in they showed us three different rooms available and told us to choose any room we like. They have a pretty decent restaurant where we had really good and tasty food. Mr Khawas also tried to make South Indian food for us because we are from Kerala. Room was clean and spacious. They provide us extra blankets and mattress. This hotel is the best option for anyone- friends or family. After staying there we found that the location is not as bad as you see in google reviews. You can find share taxi in front of the hotel for 40 rupees. Its not a big deal actually. If you are going to sikkim, just go stay in this hotel without a second thought. It was a great pleasant stay with Hotel Aurora Gangtok. The Hotel Manager Mr. Khawas was so generous and hospitable. He guided us with our North Sikkim trip too. The room was very big and cosy and had 24/7 hot water available. They provided WiFi and hot drinking water and extra blankets too. They had a good restaurant at affordable rates with good quantity and quality. They even made south Indian breakfast for us realising that we were from Kerala. We got the room at 1000rs and it was totally worth for that price. They have bigger rooms at higher rates. The building was very clean and well maintained. The staffs were very polite and the service we got was excellent. It was 2km away from main M.G Mah area and it was quite and less crowded which is both a good and bad thing. To reach M.G Market you will easily get share taxi from infront of the Hotel too. Overall I would recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to stay at...

I recommend to everyone never book this hotel not only due to location which is almost impossible to reach mg Marg from there but terrible experience I faced...I booked this hotel over phone for 2 nights in 3600 bucks n paid advance for 1 night but when I reached there it was just like 600 rs hotel no lock in balcony door..u can't order food from outside...other than this u have to order till 7 pm and have to take dinner till 9.30 pm seriously you are not in a some kind of hostel|So I decided to check out..I informed receptionist for my tomorrow check out n she said ok ...so I booked another hotel but after 1 hour she said u have to pay for full 2 nights...and called her senior whatever his name was I don't know but eventually I didn't wanna ruin my trip so I dicided to quit n paid full amount....so pls my request to u if u are visiting gangtok pls book many other hotels near mg marg not this third class out of India...
