Dragon wok tops the authentic Chinese cuisine available in Gangtok - that’s what all the blogs say.
We reached the finally on 31st Dec for lunch. There wasn’t any waiting, to our surprise but we wanted a table outside, which took time. The food menu is elaborate as anything! There is a separate Chinese menu, separate Japanese menu and a bar menu: there are tens of dishes available there.
Food: less options for vegetarians
We tried Cucumber sushi - it was decent got a vegetarian option. Non veg California roll - pretty good Dragon roll (non veg) - it was decent, just there was a tofu cube in the middle and it was a really big but short sushi. Didn’t connect with us. Crispy potatoes in sizzlers - oil-o-clock. They weren’t crispy and I honestly felt I had a jar of oil And a rum cocktail - decent, didn’t give me the kick.
Ambience: it was good. I liked the art on the walls. The inside seating was depressing though. There was also a lot of suffocation.
Service: horrible (reason for the 3 stars). There was lack of staff, no one attended to us, no one even bothered to attend to us (or anyone else). I feel the staff needs training and empathy towards the customers.
Washrooms: dirty,...

We walked up several steps to a plain dingy though spacious restaurant. The service to start with was confused. The Mocktails were watery. The Breezer was not poured out of the bottle in front of me and I cannot vouch for its quality. The food was disastrous. The crispy spicy honey chicken was shredded chicken in honey. We made a fatal mistake in asking for double cooked pork chowmein. It had pieces of pork with the hair follicles intact. I feel like puking even while I write this. The chowmein was nothing great to write about. The entire taste was that of some tasteless street side Indian style of Chinese food. Please stay away or visit at your risk. Oh yes, the toilets could give you...
